'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'
Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung: |

| Quote: barham red "I personally don't think Huddersfield did anything wrong, they slowed the play down as much as the ref let them, they played the 10 the ref let them and they passed in a manner the ref thought was acceptable. Good luck to them, they played a game that disrupted us to a maximum and won a game they deserved to win.
Thaler on the other hand should have reffed this game in a similar manner to the games he refs when on sky, he keeps a good 10, penalises laying on and listens to his linesmen. The linesmen get a raw deal, its a well known fact that the linesmen offer an opinion of offside and forward passes into the refs ear, its up to him if he does anything about it. I believe in the FC v Salford cup game the lino called the forward pass, Ian Smith decided it wasn't and let the play stand only to later admit he got it wrong... cold comfort for the FC fans.
The ear piece refs wear is in my opinion giving linesmen and in touch judges a hard deal, in the old days the lino flagged a forward or an offside, now they don't get that luxury so he may be calling everything but getting over ruled and the outcome is he looks like he's crap. The only time the ref listens is if the lino has the audacity to come on the field.
If you remember rightly last years disallowed try in the saints game on the hooter was only disallowed due to the lino standing his ground at the halfway line to call a made tackle or Thaler would have given that try, the lino was waving for ages on that and being ignored.
I'm glad Justin said what he did, maybe just maybe the RFL will look at this and agree, even if it is all done behind closed doors and never published, this would give Thaler the kick up the ar5e he needs.
I would like to see Justin request a viewing of the match video alongside Stuart Cummings so he could explain why he believes Justin was wrong to critcise the ref, or would that be too transparent.'"
Has anyone complained about Hudds in these threads, they just played the ref very well.

You are so scraping the barrel with that reply.

| And he will, stupid rant as we would have been beaten anyway. Better to have ranted when we are "Contraversally" beat by a decision from the ref that didnt look right. That would have made the RFL look more into it then Monday. This will only make him look silly im afraid.

| I have to say that I agree with Morgan tbh. Thaler isn't up to scratch, and often seems to have particularly one-eyed games when the giants are about.
And a few coaches have said as much from what i understand, it's your man whose the first to actually break ranks and risk the consequences. Good for him. See you all on Sunday btw, we're going to stuff you

| I fully endorse what has been said on here, that ref is a shambles, so are most of them. The number of head high shots that go unounished, various incidents that happen right in front of touch judges eyes yet no one ever seems to see anything, its the same for all clubs, the standard of the refs in our game is a bl**dy joke, look at that fool cummins, why was he in france acting as video ref? just there on a free jolly paid for by sky no doubt, the whole lot want re training or sacking, and a new lot promoted, all trained to gether and all singing from the same song sheet.
Whats the point of a ref blowing up for head high shots, forward passes, dangerous tackles or what ever if other refs don't do the same, the is no continuity, or consistency with any of our officials. Its time something was done about it it has gone on far to long. ive constantly emailed the RFL about the state of our refs, and how ineffective i think cummins is, but as yet the gutless morons have not offered an iota of an explanation or if they intend to act on this situation. We all moan about our great game not getting enough media coverage, ie just a few lines in the odd paper
(especially if you live in the south) but because of our officials we are contributing to making ourselves a laughing stock. A typical example, remember the Bradford leeds game one easter when that try was given by ganson against Bradford there by costing them the game at virtually the last play of the ball, we all know it should not have been, but look at ganson since then, he stands there right in front of a player that has scored a good try but now goes to the V/R, no courage seemingly to make a decission any more. There are some good younger guys in the lower divisions, look at Gateshead Sheffield last night on sky, I thought that younf ref was dam good. Rant over, all I will add isRFL HURRY UP AND GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER WITH THESE OFFICIALS.
