| Quote: ABTIGER! "i know several leeds fans who wont travel to both hull clubs, because of hulls reputation for trouble, eventhough they they havnt personally experienced any problems themselves on previous visits. on a personal note i went to craven park to watch cas last year, and i must admit i didnt like the away stand, this wasnt helped by the poor weather.'"
I realy get fed up of so called supporters who regularly come out with the same old excuses for not travelling away ie, its to far, the grounds not good enough, i dont like their fans etc,
I've spent the last 40 years supporting Hull kr and rugby league in general including ameteur rl, and during that time i have been to what would be considered absolute dumps, but it did'nt stop me going because i supported the team regardless of the surroundings they were playing in and there facilities.
If you are a true Rugby league fan or a fan of any sport for that matter you will follow, and support your team to the ends of the earth regardless.
Some of the current super league fans excuses for not travelling to support their respective teams are nothing short of soft and pathetic.
I suppose its what sorts the men from the boys, the real supporters from the fair weather ones.

Mmmmmm...
Wigan 8,000, Saints 6,000, HKR, 4500, FC 3,800 are the published gates for Quins last season. Leeds have traditionally been big games, but Sky put the dampers on that last 2 years.
The year before, FC 3,500, HKF 3,275, Wigan 5,650 Saints 4,450..... Leeds Bradford and Warrington all show bigger gates that the 2 hull teams as well that year..........so I would say that Wigan and Saints bring the most, given that we are slightly further away than the bottom of their gardens.
Sorry if the facts get in the way, but that's what they are...facts
By the way, the little bunch of nutters from Quins who attend our away games will rack up 9,000 miles this year (excluding the play-offs and Grand final v HKR )....

Those attendance figures don't really prove anything tbh. For example our gate against Wigan the other week will probably be one of our best this season, however Wigan only brought around 600-700. All sorts of factors affect attendances (not just away support) i.e. - The teams form, the day/time, neutrals may turn out to see the bigger teams, etc.
And fwiw FC always bring a respectable following over to London, I remember when you played at Brisbane Rd and we would take 2000+ everytime we played there. The poster who started this thread is basically saying that Hull n Rovers are the only teams that travel in numbers to ALL grounds, not just ones 'up the road'. I don't particulary agree with that because imo Wigan fans (usually) travel very well also, as do Saints, Leeds, most of the time. From experience though, the only team that bring more to the KC than we take to their ground would be Wigan - and this year I imagine even that won't be true. You can ask fans of most teams and I'm certain they will all say Hull (and Rovers) bring a good crowd (no matter how much they don't want to admit it).
So there you go, rant over.

Wasn't having a go, I was just pointing out that Wigan, Stains and usually Leeds attract a bigger crowd to The Stoop.
HKR brought a good load down last year and FC are always a well supported club, but if you look at the averages over the last 2 years, Wigan appear to be the "biggest" draw at most grounds.
Last year, they attracted bigger crowds at Bradford, Hudds, Leeds, Wakey (hkr brought more), Warrington, Catalans and Quins......

All this die hard rubbish annoys me - fans will go to which games they want to/can get to for whatever reason. Most of us would love to get to every home and away game but very few people are in the position to be able to do that for whatever reason.
I would expect this season for the amount of travelling support from every club to decrease because a lot of people aren't going to have the same level of available money with things as they are at the moment and unfortunately when money is tight "luxuries" such as away games will be the first thing to go for most people.
At the end of the day though any away fans in a bonus and clubs need to be focusing on getting home fans in as these are the people who will (hopefully) come back week in week out throughout the season.

I thought they were North Stand tickets that were returned to our shop, the North Stand is as close to the pitch as your South Stand, plus it has seats.

I think they are fantastic. Whenever they have turned up at KR I've always wanted to give them some applause because they seem to get everywhere and are so committed. So I'll just give them some applause here, if you don't mind.
(And I aint patronising or anything. I think they are a wonderful group of fans. I feel the same about the even smaller bunch of nutters who travel all the way from France!)

Utter garbage, maybe you should visit and see for yourself.

| Sorry if already mentioned but Bulls chairman Peter Hood congratulates HKR fans in this weeks League Express for their away support at Odsal the other weekend. He says they brought 2500 and were absolutelty excellent. He reckons Rovers sold 1000 tickets and had a walk up of 1500(don't know how he can gauge this, probably bumming up the home crowd) and apart from paying admission they ate lots of pies and drank lots of beer he adds.I wish more clubs would emulate that he says.Perhaps his own club will emulate it when they visit Craven Park.
