rumour thread so i'll put this out there, its from a gut who generally gets 4 out of 5 right early, before media etc.

Scott Taylor (or his dad apparently) has gone to the board to ask to buy out his contract. seems a bit far fetched to me but the guy generally is in the know. anyone else shed any light on this..............

That's not true.
Sandercock was offered a well paid position as junior development director. The position was eventually filled by second choice Graham Murray, a coach who has done it all in League.

Our pet billionaire played junior league in the Hunter valley, and he has a very strong focus on developing the junior squads. Sandercock was the guy who was going to redevelop junior systems for an area with a population of over a million where League is the number one sport by a very, very long way. The Knights were very interested in keeping him.

With Watts, Wheeldon and (likely) Clinton all leaving, bringing in 1 new prop seems sensible enough. We did have a surfeit at the start of the year, admittedly.

He basically made his own position last year with his work with the younger players, and this year he was offered a similar role with a new title and a heap more resources.

He was technically one of three assistant coaches last year, but his role was basically to bring on the rookie players to firstgrade level.

He wasn't 'not wanted' by Bennett. Bennett made up a whole new job description just for him to continue with his work with the younger players, and with a heap more resources to boot. The Knights were very disappointed to lose him, and are now paying good money to a top level coach to do the job he had on a plate if he wanted it.

Must have been a really tough choice between having this fantastic, money no object role in Oz, working for a billionaire with virtually unlitited resources, or tipping up in east hull with a fan for a boss who undermines you at every turn, with little or no resource to play with.

Head coach or junior development officer - tough choice for a career coach.

He actually tossed in a good job as a senior teacher in a private school to go coaching full time as an assistant, so i suspect money isn't his prime motivation.
