I would be delighted if you took Hanbury off our hands icon_razz.gifRAY: After a few good seasons with us he has consistently been our worst player and has a terrible attitude! We call him TV Rhys here on the terraces here as he only shows up when he is on TV! His reported massive contract could be a lot better spent elsewhere for us, He also spends a lot of time on the injury table.

If he gets to Taylors level (Which is is way off yet, as Taylor has played consistently at a high level for the last 5 years plus, not half a season like Mulhern), then i'd expect him to follow Taylors lead and move to a club to compete for honours.

Also, we'll likely now have to read a response from Jake about how if Mulhern does approach that level, Hull will sign him. And maybe suffer being 'offered' Ross Osbourne as a makeweight.

When I watched Taylor make his debut as 16 year old you knew he was going to be a great player it does pain me to see his performances for Hull but you felt he was always going to end up there Mulhearn on the the other hand has come on so much in the past couple of seasons I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in a England shirt in the future just hope he’s playing for us when he does

It seems to me that KR has become a feeder team to Hull FC. Lets be honest, if any player wants to play in Hull they want to play for the big team leaving KR with bit-part players and cast offs.

I think you need to be worrying about your own team

Agreeed, that was't a dig at Rovers, it's just sport, the best players will usually end up at the top clubs, as they have the money and players want to win things and play internationally (Connor is the perfect example), we have been on the other end of this losing players like Carvell, Radford and Briscoe in the past, there is always the odd exception, such as Hudds players like Brough, Mcgivalry and in the past Crabtree, but you do look back and wonder if they regret not moving onto a bigger club at some point.

To be fair to Hudds, from 2009–2015 they finished 5th, 5th, 4th, 7th, 1st, 3rd and 3rd. Far from dominant, but pretty competitive. While they only won the hubcap, they were competing for trophies and had players winning international honours.

I think we need to give some more obvious signs that we want to do more than just make up the numbers. Or if that is all we can realistically do, accept it and aim to do it more effectively, like Wakefield these last 3 years.

ther are various reasons for good players leaving clubs, the biggest being salaries, the big clubs as you say,, are usually the ones who bring their own youth through and win grand finals, either fc are not big enough or were not small enough to be a feeder team whilst we are in superleague

I don't think they ever looked like serious contenders though during this time.

Fair enough. Obviously with hindsight, they’ll be seen as a team that didn’t quite have what it takes to go all the way. And even at the time there was maybe an expectation that it’ll be Leeds and if not, then Wigan or Saints. Until there’s a different name of the trophy, it’s kind of difficult to imagine another name on the trophy. Although Warrington and Cas getting there felt like a bit of something new, their losses kind of reinforced the feeling of same old, same old.

The cup is a different type of competition, but at that time they had as good a shot as most. And winning it with Hudds would be something special, whereas it is a bit ‘up with the rations’ at Leeds and Wigan.

We do tend to take any decent prop you produce. mulhern has potential but, as you say, a long way off being at Taylor's level

I couldn't hear the robin sing if not for you.:20187.jpg

Great news that Masoe has signed a 3 year deal. As an overseas prop I think he has been a lot better than Paea this season.

Masoe & Mulhern are both quality front rowers who have really looked good this season and are signed long term. Rovers are slowly making progress yes we have missed out on a number of targets but Tomkins arrived unexpectedly and there is another quality signing to come.

When McGuire, Mulhern and Carney return in a week or two I think we will be looking quite strong.
