NH's comment suggest (perhaps) the 'interesting' situation Galea faced. If Hull made him an offer but said we need to know ASAP, because we've got other options, then he needs an offer from Rovers quickly or he might be left with nowhere to go. We're, understandably, in less of a rush so he ends up shaking on a deal there.
His dilemma then is to face up the negative reaction this is likely provoke among some HKR supporters (especially as he's our captain), or delay or present it as a last minute change of heart. If that is what has happened, I can't really blame him - and perhaps we should have let the sleeping dog lie. Then again, perhaps he should have been a tad more understanding about his snub at the awards night.

If you get three quarters of the way into the season having failed to prepare a negotiation strategy with your OOC captain and loyal servant of 5 years, that's just shatpank management. As is deflecting blame onto players seeking some sort of security, their agents, and interested clubs.

That's actually pretty good media management, IMO.

Especially regarding agents, who are naturally unsympathetic characters, and if the interested club is a traditional rival already attracting criticism for tapping up players.
