Hodgson is a finisher who still has a decent amount of speed.
Going to be interesting times at Craven Park the next few weeks icon_smile.gif

Hmm, so assuming he does sign / has signed, if he has been brought in to replace Colbon or Fox, which one would people keep? Definitely Fox for me.

Go onto www.superleague.com and go to SLTV and watch the Giants v catalans highlights and when dodgy scores the 90 yard intercept tell me he has 'no pace.' He had knee recon it takes anyone 12 months to get back their pace just look at peacock and mcguire who now look distinctly average its cos knee recon is a long recovery beyond just getting back and thats what happened to dodgy and yes i would keep him

Probably the contracted one.

Hull KR now leading the chase to sign Huddersfield Giants winger David Hodgson?
by Chris Roberts, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
Jul 13 2011
ShareAdd a commentRecommend HULL KR are believed to be leading the race to sign Giants winger David Hodgson on a two-year deal.

Out of contract at the end of the current campaign, the 29-year-old had been linked with a move to Widnes Vikings as they prepare to build a side capable of competing in their first season since being granted a Super League licence.

The Vikings were thought to be close to announcing Hodgson’s capture last week, along with that of Crusaders duo Jason Chan and Hep Cahill.

But those plans appear to have been scuppered as the trio attract the interest of rival Super League clubs, with Papua New Guinea back-row forward Chan linked with a possible move to the Giants.

Rovers are understood to be pushing hard to sign the Hull-born Hodgson in a bid to strengthen a position that has troubled them throughout this season.

With 13 tries to his name so far this season, Hodgson has scored more tries than all of Rovers’ wingers combined!

Marvellous.

Now what was wrong with the other thread?

'Hodgy' is going to be a handy addition.

We're coming to make some noise!:

Quote: Hessle rover "Great signing if it`s true. Better winger than we got at the club at this moment in time. As for colbon he drops more high balls than he scores tries!'"

11 errors - 6 tries for Colbon

15 errors - 13 tries for Hodgson

Anyway like these Hudds fans who are sorry to see Hodgson go I will be sad to see Colbon leave if he does, while he is not a flamboyant winger he makes good meters and isn't too different to Hodgson on the stats. Maybe if Colbon was playing for Huddersfield this season he'd be up there on 13 tries too?

On the face of it this looks like a very good signing but there are a few things that trouble me with it.
Hodgson has played the best rugby of his career on the left wing so are we going to see Fox shifted back to the right where he has gone on record as stating he is not as happy? Failing that are we going to see Hodgson playing at full back given that his signing has coincided with the announcement of Briscoes departure?
The biggest thing that concerns me though is actually how much he wants to be here. He has turned down contracts from both Rovers and Hull pretty much every year over the past 5/6 years. This contract with Rovers was agreed at the back end of last year despite his missus having a real reluctance to move to this city. At the last minute Widnes came in with a better financial offer than us. Given that he has just, i believe, bought a house in Hessle i would have called his bluff but instead Rovers upped their offer to match the Chemics. In short i think that we could have a Gareth Carvell situation on our hands if Daves missus gets bored of the 2 hour drive to the Trafford Centre every day.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Frederick Douglas:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_30596.jpg

Jesus he's quick! icon_eek.gif On that short clip alone I'd say he'll be more of an asset than Colbon (no offence Liam icon_surprised.gifops: ).

eusa_eh.gif icon_lol.gif I just meant that I don't think Colbon would have scored that try (e.g. have had the pace), but again no offence. eusa_shifty.gif icon_lol.gif If Byron Ford on the other hand had took it I don't reckon the Catalans players would have even bothered giving chase! a014.gif icon_biggrin.gifANCE: k020.gif icon_lol.gif icon_smile.gif
