How can rovers sign anymore overseas players when the quota is already more than full ??

Apart from Fitzhenry, I can't think of any quota spots becoming available.

But JM does not consult you on his plans for recruiting, so it hardly suprising you are in the dark. It may be that a few are to be offloaded to make way for others, we will have to wait and see.

Maybe get some more "special dispensation" to add to those three ?? quite possible.

Lovegrove, Gene and Aizue are or will be covered by the [iuniversal[/i dispensation for players here before Feb 2008. Fitzhenry would be if he stayed. However all are OOC and I strongly suspect some of them will leave.
Newton should be off (the quota or whatever we call it now) as well next year, because his original deal would have expired this year. Can't remember the timing of Vella's renewal relative to the change in the rules and not sure what Fisher's position is. If Mannering did come, I don't think more than one other antipodean would come with him, unless there were some surprise departures.

Surely if our quota was "more than full" we would get a call from Red Hall?

Vella isnt on Quota if im thinking correctly (maltese passport).

This as gone round afew times and i thought it was Webster, Newton, Dobson and Galea on Quota. (After fitzy has gone) and i think quota is 5 spots for next season, and 6 for this is it not? (we had crossman this season remember)

Gene & Aizue have special dispensation whilst playing for rovers.
Lovegrove has a british passport, can play for south africa (were his mother was born) and joined us at a very early age so might be classed as homegrown - suspect there will be a way around getting him on the books without him been a quota player.

Fisher is classed as "Scottish" is he not.

Having players off quota doesnt matter, next season you can only have 6 players that are non fed trained.

Thats Webster, Dobson, Vella, Fisher, Galea and Newton.

So unless you can dispensation for one of your players you cant sign anymore Overseas players.

In the November following the expiry of the contract they had when the rules were changed (again), players here for the start of the 2008 season become fed-trained. That is the best and most recent interpretation I have seen (on the Hull board in fact). Gene and Aizue are already on this. Fitzhenry, Lovegrove and Newton will be eligible this November. I suspect Vella and/or Fisher might also qualify. We are more limited by PR, than the rules in all honesty.

Cusack should qualify for you, I think, as would Motu Tony if you kept him iirc. And maybe Aizue, if we believe Bandito. I'm sure the RFL will tell us if we err, so you needn't worry.

I think im right in saying due to him been on an academy contract he doesnt count on the quota.
