Eh? There's talk of it all over city, including the HDM comments section which is normally so credible, so well worth a chat on here I'd have thought. Wouldn't want communication to let us down.

| So what do you think of it, Mrs B? Bad for FC, isn't it?

Self-evident as we there will be no Hull FC when he delivers on his twice declared preference for a merger. You are a bit silly.
In the event that Allam buys Rovers and runs the club, I don't know what that would mean. You'd be trading a passionate chairman willing to push the boat out for players even if running at a loss for one with probably less willingness to do so to clear the decks. If he builds his hotel thing, who knows? Could be a brilliant age of prosperity, could be another Firoz Kassam scenario.

| My take on the financial side of the project is approx £6m is being guaranteed by the Council – Rovers owe £2m and the enterprise hub £4m.
Rover’s pay-back scheme is different to the enterprise hub although both are expected to be repaid within 30yrs.
Re the enterprise hub, the ‘tenants’ will be the NHS, Hull Training, and a company specialising in business start-ups. A non-profit management company will be set up by the Council to deal with the leases etc., and administration.
Re Hull Training, yes it is a Council run organisation, however, it is funded by central government (education budget).
One thing I haven’t heard any mention about, of late, is the proposed bar/restaurant? I know Rovers wanted ‘ownership’ of this as part of their sustainability model.
On the rumours about a take-over, it doesn't make sense to me simply because Neil and Rob have worked so hard to get the club and stadium to what it is (and what it is going to be). Why walk away now and let new owners take all the plaundits? Both Neil and Rob are proud men who want to be part of this legacy. Thats why I am treating it all with a pinch of salt!

| I'm sure I've read somewhere that the board would be willing to listen if the right offer became available and I'm 100% certain that if the club was sold then it would only be sold under the condition that the club continued in it's own right so the merger issue doesn't concern me at all.
If Mr Allam wants to buy the club, clear all the debts, finish the stadium and give us transfer money to get top quality players then why not? - and I'm sure if he did buy the club it would probably be on the condition that Neil Hudgell, Rob Crossland and the rest of the board continue to be involved anyway (Mr Allam stated that similarly he only bought Hull City under the condition that Adam Pearson continued as director of football operations).
It's quite possible that Mr Allam has thought that no matter how much cash he throws at Hull City, they will always be struggling either get into, or stay in the premier league where as he probably sees an opportunity to make a real difference with Rovers both from a stadium development (and surrounding areas) POV and the playing side of things for far less cash.
Mr Allam gets a lot of undeserved bad press IMO when you consider he's just shelled out £51M of his own money to save the city's football club which he'll never see again and ATEOD at 71 years of age, he probably just wants to leave a legacy before he pops his clogs.
There's way too much sentiment surrounding our club and it's fans and after standing at places like Batley and watched us get tonked by 40 points and I never want to see the club in that situation again so if Mr Allam wants to help take the club onto the next level then I'd welcome it.

Don't think there's anything defamatory about it. Though I should state that if any of the parties rumoured to be involved indicate that they disagree, it'd come down faster than Mrs Barista can type 'ongoing liabilities'. Brave in the face of legal action, I am not.
If we got rid of all the speculation, it'd be a very dull board - and people'd be moaning at us about censorship.
On the loan repayments - we either make 'em, and it's not an issue, or we don't and the council foots the bill (the model used in funding the KC, incidentally). If it's the latter then from a r&w pov, at least we were given a chance, from a ill-wisher b&w pov we failed to take it and went pop (as Gabrielle sang, 'dreams can come true, dooby-doo da-da dooby-doo, you know you've gotta have 'em, you know you gotta be stro-oh-ong).

| I will wait to hear from official sources, but if it is true I susspect that he will be making money from other develpments around the Craven park ground (his proposed sports village perhaps?) What it wont mean is an influx of top players as we already spend up to the cap limit ( I think) & transfer fees are part of the cap. So apart from clearing debts it just secures the future of the club & allows long term development of the site which the Allam family should rightly benefit,

Transfer fees aren't part of the cap.
Getting a long way ahead of events here, but [iif[/i he came in with money to spend and sporting ambition it [icould[/i be fantastic.
For me it doesn't quite stack up, but you never can tell.

What? The KC was built as a community facility with cash in hand from the sale of KC share wasn't it? I don't think the council borrowed to build it.

| Were I a Rovers fan I'd be terrified of Allam getting ownership of my club. I don't believe for one instant that he has any interest at all in RL, and any move for ownership of either club would have an ulterior motive.
Have people forgotten so soon what a complete looney-tune this guy sounded like whenever he he gave an interview about his plans for the KC?

I would be worried if we didn't have Neil Hudgell & Rob Crossland in charge who I believe would only act in the best interest of Hull Kingston Rovers. If this rumour has any substance then those two people would have measures in place to make sure Hull KR are not sold down the river.
