I don't really care if you get relegated or not, but I also aren't one for taking joy from seeing you struggle. I never got that excited about derbys anyway, and after a decade of derby overkill it really is just another game now. I would swap that win on Sunday for us to beat Warrington this week since that would be more useful for our season. I am a rugby league supporter and like to discuss all topics about all teams and post on all forums here. Anyone calling for Sheens out is clueless. I could have come here and put something like, Sheens is a decent coach but you can't polish a turd. Instead I thought I would give a proper opinion and maybe get some discussion. As much as it seems this guy is just looking for a reaction, Sheens definitely has a task on his hands!

the club is in a far healthier state than it was before sheens took over,remember we are a small/medium sized club competing in the top league, it all takes time and with some very promising youngsters in our camp albeit injured he must be allowed to continue the progress,with a bit of luck which we haven't had im sure he can establish us in the top 8

I agree with most of your post, however I think you exaggerate our expectations here. I agree that top class big men would be a stretch - but we'd seriously benefit from even adding some bigger/more powerful/more aggressive mediocrities at the moment. For a few years now, even in the Championship at the start of each half, our pack has ranged between 'just about holding its own' to 'getting smashed'. I really do struggle to understand why we've repeatedly failed to address it. James Webster's quotes saying we'd be going mobile again in 2018 was one of the most dispiriting Rovers-related things I can remember reading. That it wasn't Sheens making those comments and that he's previously and since made comments about our lack of size makes me wonder a little.



I don't want Sheens out at all. However, the issue wasn't parting company with Chester - it was replacing him with an interim head coach, giving that interim head coach little to no authority and assuming we'd be okay and could safely focus on the longer-term. I don't think anybody is suggesting we walk that path again!

Nope, the real mistake was putting Sandercock in charge of a team that had only a couple of seasons before managed to get into the top four and then let him take the squad apart. That is a gamble we are still paying for. Kris Keating anyone?

To be fair to Sandercock, that team was, good as it had been, in need of rejuvenation. So I wouldn’t say he dismantled it. He was also given the challenging task of developing potential (at least initially), whereas Morgan seemed to have a freer hand to bring in more proven players. He might not have been brilliant, and certainly was rarely optimistic about our chances, but things didn’t improve after he left.

I think my frustration with Jamie’s magic botch was that his 5-year plan came 3/4 years after ‘Building for the Future’ had amply demonstrated the flaws of planning for the long term at the expense of the short term at the first-team level.

We’ve had about 7 transitional seasons in a row now, and I think whatever happens this year we need some fresh momentum, and a clear vision of what the club aspires to be. If that means we really try to compete in SL in 2019, then great. If we can’t and go in the direction of trying to be the best part-time team in country while aiming to break even financially, or some such, then fine - I can buy in to that too. Just so long as it has some immediacy.
