| Quote LifeLongHKRFan="LifeLongHKRFan"Well I could say that Hull KR took the foot off the gas in the 2nd half but I won't because its disrespectful to the opposition. Hull no more 'just did the basics' as Rovers didn't take their foot off the gas.'"
Maybe you did take your foot off the gas I don't know, all I'm saying is you let us off likely with a game that was just not that intense.

| Quote Mild Rover="Mild Rover"Oh would that I could, but I suspect the OP was being genuine.
I think for our own sakes we have be careful about getting paranoid about refs. They might not be brilliant, but I think I've seen all of them labelled as 'not liking us', recently. Apart from Alibert perhaps, as he's generally considered not quite up to pursuing a vendetta. Anyway - does that seem likely?
The psychology of conspiracy theories is that every bit of evidence that supports it is grabbed, while stuff that points in the other direction is ignored or rationalised away. Catalans scored on a 7th tackle play, I've seen a few Bradford fans claim, and won by a point yesterday. If so, I suspect Guasch will be quieter about double standards this week.
The refs aren't very good, but they're not out to get us. Unconscious big club bias aside. The Ganson thing at MM was shocking, but he missed a blatant forward pass the year before, and we (Rovers fans) accepted that was incompetence rather than suspecting anything more sinister.
If we want consistency and fairness from refs, we should offer them the same.
'"
The RFL don't help matters though. After MM why on earth did they give the next Derby to the same ref? Ok I know you will point out that Ganson made the 'error' but Thaliar also made other ricks in the game that cost us. Plus with his record with regard to Rovers and his perceived attitude towards the club he should not have officiated yesterday.

Tbf though, we've got grievances against almost all of them by now. Child or Silverwood after the Wigan game? Bentham's not universally popular. Big game to give to Hicks or Roby.
the ref will make mistakes in every game. It's been quite good to have Cummins involved in the Sky coverage, as it shows how much of it is subjective and how much easier it is with replays.
In close games the decisions that went the other way will be viewed as crucial by the losers, who'll tend to forget where they were fortunate because it wasn't ultimately of benefit.
In the 2012 MM game, Hull fans went mad about the forward pass, while forgetting about scoring off a drop out when (IMO ) we should have had a penalty for a push.
I'm sure Hull fans will remember decisions that went against them this year.
In close games, refs will often be a talking point. Yesterday, we got beaten by 18, so it looks a bit desperate to put it all on the ref. It is better to be gracious in defeat - as we know from experience, watching your rivals squirm madly to try to deny your team credit or diminish their performance is, above all, funny as hell. I'm not really gracious, I just don't want to give them the pleasure.

The game was pretty intense and no quarter given and all that, up to the point when we dished up some slack play and you guys punished us with 18pts in no time without a hand been laid on you . This kinda' broke our spirit on and off the pitch. Our bench was also not particularly strong, add the combo of Eden's injury/shake up thereafter whilst also playing periods with 12 men, probably all took there toll in the 2nd half. The scoreline maybe didn't reflect the closeness of the teams, but we have only ourselves to blame for a bit of that.

Hard fought Derby which was turned on it's head in 6 minutes, to be fair to Rovers they never gave up and we could not rest easy until the final try from Briscoe. Thought Rovers coped pretty well with the loss of Lovegrove & Eden. For us Lineham was not having one of his better games when he got injured and Whiting did his usual solid emergency cover. Less said about Burns the better.

I always like leaving daft threads open too. Allows a release of some of the steam building up.

Yes I am an old timer. I actually gave up reading it around 60 years ago, but never actually paid a subscription, which is why I asked the question.

| I just don't understand the OP. We lost, it was our teams fault or FC's better play. Yes we got some rubbish descisions but so did FC. the officials missed lots of forward passes by both teams. Rovers were by far the better side in the first half but FC hung in kept it close & upped their game & we did not respond. The three quick try's (that from the East stand looked pretty poor from our side) did for us. just lets move on & get ready for Leeds.
The other sour point for me was the abuse & vitriol thrown at the FC cheer leaders (it wasn't harmless banter) as well as the howls of delight from the usual morons when young Lynham got hurt makes me wonder about coming to games, I love this sport & the Robins but some of the fools that have attatched their self to our club are starting to spoil the game for me.
