TBH I never assumed that the Rovers board had been stupid. My take on this is that both Rovers and the RFL have been forced by circumstance into using tactics that both would have preferred not to, and that [imight[/i have wider consequences. The reluctance with which the full story has come out indicates the seriousness with which both parties view it.
My guess would be that the RFL are now busy assessing the fallout from their two available choices (allow the re-registration or not) and determining which comes with the least fallout for them. The most likely outcome will be a yes decision but it may well cost them.
