Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "Fair enough, you have your opinion, I have mine.

If I was in charge of the RFL the first 2 things I would do are scrap the 40/20 rule (absolutely hate it, just punishes good defence and bails out a team who have done a poor exit set) and scrap the video ref. Not only is it unfair that it's only at one game per round, but it slows the games down too much. I wouldn't mind if it was just there to remove the glaring errors, but most of the time they seem desperate to find something wrong with even the most obvious try. No video ref would have probably seen us lose by more last night, but I don't care, I'm fed up of it.'"

Just hit the nail on the head there pal!

No-one put on report but I bet a one or two will still get cited. Wouldn't be the RFL if not.

The decision to disallow the try because Caro was offside was a correct one, as much as it pains me to say

The alleged stripped ball incident was inconclusive so you have to go with the ref.

I agree that Hall did touch the ball first, but as he had his back to the Hull line and paddled it towards his own
hitting Whiting's hand on the way it is therefore a knock on by Whiting and the try should have stood.

On the Welham incident he was takled in the air, that is allowed in the in goal area as a defending team, but this was outside, I have watched it again and he was in the air, he also landed on his back without his arms or ball touching the ground so it should have been play on.

Houghton's try did touch down.

Whiting didn't touch Burns drop kick.

Watts pass was forward.

Travis and miller coming together was a collision nothing more, both players turned their shoulders in, more to protect themselves, this incident is just my opinion the others are factual.

Burns stupid elbow will definitely be reviewed, that said he copped one in the face leading up to it, but retaliation is retaliation and he's likely to get 1 game.

Quote: Mr. Zucchini Head "By all means enjoy your win, but when you have calmed down go watch it properly. Houghton clearly got the ball down. Caro was clearly offside. Hall touched the ball before Whiting. It was a shoulder charge. The stolen over the line one was hard to call but since the ref thought it was play on then you have to stick with his decision. The only one the VR got wrong was the drop goal which never touched anyone.

Child got some decisions wrong, I thought the pass to Bowden was forward for example. But all the decisions that got sent upstairs were correct imo.

Tbh I'm getting sick and tired of fans (and I'm including Hull fans) thinking there's some agenda against them. It's pathetic.'"

icon_lol.gif I'm fine lad, seems your the upset one after being given an advantage and not winning.

Scrap the 40/20 rule? anyone would think it led to a try! oh wait a minute.

If it had been the other way round you would have be hailing it as a great piece of play, you may change your mind if your endless search for a decent halfback ever comes to an end.

I think that's a fair summary.

The reason I'm banging on about the decisions being mostly right isn't because of club bias, or that I think Hull were badly done to, or that I disagree that Rovers should have won by more. It's just that I'm fed up with fans who think the RFL are somehow trying to screw their team over every time they get a 50/50 against them. Can't people be grown up to take a step back and think, "well I don't agree with that decision, but it was a difficult one to judge and the ref has just called it how he saw it?"

And Hessle Rover you have an enormous chip on your shoulder. I am disappointed to lose, but I can admit that you outplayed us and deserved to win my much more than 1 point. I just happen to have a different opinion to you on a few decisions.

I just can't stand the rule. I have been wanting it gone from the game ever since they brought it in. I think it's a gimmicky rule that punishes a strong defensive set.

Hey, Phil, your North stand gets my approval! Plenty of girls' loos after all, you old rogue, you. (Blokes didn't look so happy, though, queuing right down the concourse with their hands wedged between their goolies.) Good view from all areas, even at the front - good elevation. Just need to make sure the repayments are maintained, now. icon_wink.gif

What plans for the South 'stand', or are you now wary of entering into another project with Hudge, the ungrateful sod? You kept telling him to be patient and wait to see the finished article and you were right all along. icon_smile.gif

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result:

watching the game from the east stand hull were offside all night watching it back today on sky so were rovers the fact is as fans you see what you want to see on another night some of the decisions could have gone the other way and we would won a lot easier which I think we deserved to but we won and that all that matters in the end

I like the 40-20 rule but totally agree on the vr, they just look for reasons to disallow rather than taking a pragmatic apprach. Some of the obstruction ones are farcical.

Same here for 40/20 rule. Awards fantastic skill usually when team under pressure. The kicker is often taking a gamble too.

Video ref is a joke. Should never have started it. Kills the momentum of games. Kills atmospheres at grounds. How they can make decisions off 2d images I don't know. It's not worth the effort for what it brings.
Doesn't help when people like Hollywood are doing it or when they allow drinks in the VR refs room (see Ganson).

Why people in football want it is beyond me.

Rovers were on their game, Hull weren't, it would have been tough on them to put all that effort in and lose when Hull drifted in and out of the game so the result was about right. From an Fc point of view, we have a lot of work to do as a team to get where we know we can be and i don't think much will happen for us until the 2nd half of the season.
