The reason we did the African one was because a certain group of "fans" (debatable) insisted on every song been about FC therefore we did that horrid noise to drown the swines out.

I too dislike the trumpets but watching the game back on the two occasions it was played it got a good rallying cheer which IMO shows it did its job. I don't think we need gimmicks but with the atmosphere dropping over the past few years the club maybe thought it needed a bit of influence.

As has been pointed out before there are new chants that people are trying to learn and the Kris Welham song took a fair number of games before it got going. The old songs are still being sung and hopefully the team will give the fans something to shout about so we can get the whole crowd vocal!

The Kris Welham chant is the best one to come out in years.
