| Quote phil webbo="phil webbo"Saints are not exactly sitting pretty, although being top would suggest that, but if you look at their remaining games, Hudds in the cup, then Rovers, Leeds, Hudds again and finally Les Cats, with a run in like that they could still slip down the league, I think we need to get 2 more regular rounds out of the way before people start counting their chickens.'"
I agree it’s not done and dusted by any stretch of the imagination but I do think that a 5 point cushion with 4 games to go is to much for the chasing pack to make up on 4th spot

| Quote Uruguay="Uruguay"With Wire and F.C at home and Cas and Hudds away it will take a massive effort to win all 4, especially with not having the rest this weekend.'"
Confidence is a massive thing, as has been proven with Rovers v Saints in the cup last year and a similar thing happened again this year, if Wigan beat Wire their confidence will be sky high going into th run in, reacon they'll beat wire twice FC and Cas should follow and if Hudds can't go up or drop, they will rest players their last game, so yes I think they may well win their last 4.

Wigan have still to play Wire and Cas. Wire also play Wakefield and Quins - the latter also play Cas (who incidentally go to Leeds next). Wakefield's run in isn't too bad and they do play us. Catalans are probably too far back and they'd need to beat Wakefield to get passed us. All this is assuming we can't beat a post-semi final Wire at home [ior[/i a Salford team with only pride to play for. Edit: Saints after the CC semi, Wire after the final!
It is possible we won't make the play-offs, but just barely.
Top 4, you may have a point. A slightly pessimistic point, but valid nontheless.

I can see fans of a certain club swarming all over these pages should it go pear shaped, you know they play silly games, all this "you will put a cricket score against us" is just their way of setting us up for a fall, lets not do it for them, once its cast in stone I will be the first to crow about it.

They would love it if we didnt make it, but that only comes to show how pathetic their season has been,

| In all honesty it is extremely unlikely that Rovers can get to the Grand Final. It's probably a bad thing to create an expectation that we can.
It is in fact going to be difficult to win even 1 play off game.
As things stand we'll be away to St Helens and then home to Wigan. We'll play Wigan after the toughest game possible (away to team 1), Wigan will be coming off the easiest game possible (home to team eight).
Now I'm not saying we can't beat Wigan but beating them in a knock out play off game is a huge task even at home. Of course if Rovers do manage it then they will then be 'rewarded' with another away trip to (probably) St Helens.
Finishing 4th would be a very good effort but the play off system gives little reward for it.

| Similar to what i said , To be honest the playoffs do look more grueling this year.
In past years if you had finished 4th, you would of had to play
5th at home
then winners of 3 v 6th
then losers of the 1 v 2
Although they get a second bite its does seem harder for teams 3 and 4 and possibly easier for teams 5 to 8

Its definately easier for teams 7 and 8 - that is why its slightly harder for 1-6.
Also that is 3 wins in a row to reach the GF. If we win 2 in a row (with a 2nd chance, if we lose our first), we'd be at OT - which is easy to say, much harder to do.
The advantage of being top 2 has been most eroded. You only had to win once to get to the GF, from there before - now it is twice. Apart from H advantage it isn't better than 3/4th.

| Quote phil webbo="phil webbo"I think Wigan will win there last 4, Don't think we'll beat Saints or Warrington should beat Salford, so the Wakey game is massive, and by no means a shoe in, so yes I do think everyone is being a big premature, I really hope I'm wrong, but all this crowing could leave us with massive amounts of egg on our faces.'"
I think we have a very good chance of beating both, especialy if we are starting to peak at the right time.
