Either way he's wrong. The Council own 51% of the company. and have never sold anything to BT

of course no-one would be interested straight away, theyd expect them to drop the price.
if any deal did happen theyd make Hetherington and co hang on for ages to get FC at a rock bottom price, they wouldent just say "yes Kath" and write out a cheque straight away.
also how many rich sports interested people do you know in Hull? minus Pearson and his backer..

| there have been some good responses to this topic and some propogand as well.
True the KR team is playing with heart and are looking good, but don't fall into the trap. Last season you where all full fo expectancy at this stage and look what happened, do not let your aspirations run riot. The rumour of a new stadium paid for by the council, is just that a rumour its election tiime. The simple fact is that only the labour party could command enough support to push that through, they could well lose control. Building another stadium in Hull is political suicide and no party would even take beyond the "disscusion " stage. The price the council will get for its remaining shares will be lower then the intitial selling, about 2/3 less.
Things are a bit grim over at Hull at the moment, it will not last long and one or two wins and this slump will be a bad memory. We will remain in super league next seasoan, even if the coach, tem and management change.
I wish you luck in your league campaign, but do not listen to the hype, rumours and dam right lies that are being peddled about.
Just keep the belief

I'm sure it was stated on the radio a short while ago that the council still own @ 40% --probably been diluted by all the managers share options and general 'gravy training'!

| Quote 100%RED="100%RED"I don't think you will get a new super stadium like the KC!
The only reason Hull FC/City tigers got that stadium was because Hull City council sold Kingston Communication to BT! And with the money they received they decided to build a new stadium!'" ???
Er no they didnt they sold a proportion of the company via a share issue!!(e.g selling stocks and shares in the company).
They still have a large proportion of the company which is still owned by the council!!
Selling the rest would give the concil another big payday!! and maybe another smaller version of the KC for the east of the city

No the council have about 40% of the shares left and the original selling price was £2.25 , lucky if you get 75p for them now. The announcement of any sale of the councils holding will send prices crashing so my price for the council sale will be 60p ..................

Is 40% not a large proportion then and where have you got the figure of 40% from anyway??
It all depends how the buying is done!!
If the buying company buy up all the other shares until they have I think its 51% then unless im mistaken they have to pay the going rate or above for the remaining shares!!

Why don't they ask David Lloyd?
Seriously though, this is effectively the David Lloyd situation happening all over again as all of the £2.8M debt is owed to the board themselves - they are the creditors
Trying to find a person who will buy an RL club with this much debt would prove to be incredibly difficult...
Thank god our beloved Hull Kingston Rovers is run by true fans and not the likes of Hetherington and co...

| Realistically who in their right mind (other than a fan) would buy a RL club? To buy Hull they would have to spend 2. something to pay off the existing debt, then pay whatever the assets/value of the club was (not much despite their creative accounting!). That would be close to 3million you would think. And the return? Last year 4 grand! Leave the money in the bank mate!!
