I'd have Blair ahead of a couple of your SRs he's a SR that's a decent centre a good half back with a decent kicking game not many SRs have that in there game

| Ignoring all the crap, and immaterial rubbish spouted from the west of the river, it was a bit of a bizarre game, i think we saw some some the worst and best of Rovers form of the season, Mulhern and Bobby were terrific all night, Lunty gave us direction even though he was a bit rusty, Maggs showing the class we expected from him. We have to remember this season is about survival, and we have to realise that injuries have played a massive part in our up and down form. I'm happy with last nights win, RRTR

Agree with your take on last night. Defense on the edges is still a concern but reasons for that as not had a settled side. A few points thrown away as well so all things considered we are doing ok

| Quote: His Bobness "Widnes didn't have the best of luck with 4 injuries and ending up with no subs. (Nearly as bad as ourselves against St Helens when with no subs we got another injury and played the game out with 12.)
A very dull first half looked like it might conclude 0-2 but Rovers suddenly found another gear and it was 10-2. Widnes had blown a couple of guilt edge chances early on which was helpful.
We looked to be coasting but Clarkson was deservedly sin binned for a needless spear tackle and while short Widnes scored twice to lead 10-12 and suddenly the alarm bells were ringing. The turning point came when Rovers got a penalty to make it 12-12 whilst 3 fresh men were waiting to come on including the returning Clarkson. Widnes with their injuries had no such luxury and from then on there was only one winner.
Rovers played some great stuff in the final 15 minutes the final try was a delight.
McGuire was superb with his deft passes and kicking game, Blair strong running and tackling and Carney like an extra forward and a couple of tries. It all ended up fine in the end.'"
Pretty much exactly how I saw it. I thought Dudson looked strong for them until his injury, and if Wellington Albert hadn’t been injured on his first carry, he might have been a handful - jeez, he can move for big lad (at least once).
Massively biased and I’d be outraged if it was allowed against us, but I though Child could have let Carney’s behind the back pass go - it was only slightly forward and scored high marks for artistic merit, imo.

Yeah, just about after yesterday’s result.
We’ve worked hard but often been scratchy, and still have some areas of fairly profound weakness, imo. Without Widnes’s injury woes, we might not have eased away from in the last quarter. But you have to take your chances, and yesterday we did - that’s the main thing. The effort is definitely there.

| Take your black n white specs off. I'd say Minichello has been good for you considering he didn't arrive with much fanfare?.Runs good lines but looks past his best now? Manu looks good when I've watched him and him Ellis and Mini were best back row for few year.Blair isn't a physically big 2nd row but he offers more in attack I'd say and as mentioned can cover centre and half to a good standard.More importantly he gives his all every game.On paper you're probably correct but Blair will be tough to replace for us?

| I'm a massive fan of Bobby, but Friday night apart I don't think he has it in him on a week to week basis.
2015 and 16 he was excellent, last year he should have murdered anyone who came near him, he didn't.
He's a player going through the motions and unless he can rediscover his previous form and desire at 34 he need to let it go.

I think he's retiring at the end of the season I agree last season he seemed to go through the motions but I think he's been excellent this season

| I think he has been good this season and certainly not a passenger, but when you've seen when you've seen his best you know he isn't there. 2015 and 2016 were as good a 2nd rower for HKR as I've seen since Galea or Newton in their pomp, albeit in a team not good enough for him.
He doesn't have the line break that he had a couple of seasons ago, so I have no problems in saying he isn't as good as he was. The 2015/2016 version could get into most SL backrows, the current version most prob still has merit for inclusion in some, but he needs a lot more nights like Saturday to be considered as a relevant top SL backrower.

In 2016 he played half back for most of the season

| Other than telling me ur a bit pedantic I aren't sure how to respond???
His ability to cover the halves doesn't make him a bad 2nd row option, just as the occasions when Newton covered centre and Galea covered the halves didn't make them any less of a 2nd row.
