3 knee ops and only a youngster, reason why hull pulled out, big risk but like feka with us maybe one worth taking

It will be easy to tell the difference.

Element of risk in all signings - especially in this market. How will Keating/Weyman/Costigan settle and adapt? Does Langley have too many miles on the clock? The only way to get anything close to a sure thing is to pay through the nose, which has obvious downsides.
It just has to be balanced sensibly and as best as possible across the squad. On what's been announced so far, I'm fairly optimistic.

Wasn't it Chris and Des Harrison who were the brothers. Great hair and taches. Looked like the Stylistics circa the 70's. Chris was a good player big tackler and strong runner but hampered by knee injuries.
Des was good at putting fires out.
Was Dave Harrison related to them. Don't think he was if it is the little hooker I'm thinking of. He was a decent player too.

Why offer him a deal in the first place then?

That's a good spot sir. Typically B&W biased reporting from the local comic.

Will be interesting watching our two packs build up this year.

Especially with the World Cup and spotting potential targets. Should be a very very good 2014.

If memory serves me right and sometimes it doesn't. I believe he came to Hull Uni as a student and played for us during his course, once graduated he for an occupation rather then his rugby career. He wasn't related to Chris and Des.

Difference being,Adam hadn't had 3 serious knee injuries at a very young age, only time will tell I suppose.

Fitzgibbon played a season and half with a badly injured shoulder and he was a machine, some players have carried injuries all there careers and seem to worry about them in the off season or at the end of there careers, walker is a cracking signing imo

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?:

Quote: Robins Nest "If memory serves me right and sometimes it doesn't. I believe he came to Hull Uni as a student and played for us during his course, once graduated he for an occupation rather then his rugby career. He wasn't related to Chris and Des.'"

Correct. He was also first team coach as well.

Not having a go but I really do think Feka is a very long shot indeed with not a lot to be gained in any case. The leaner fitter Feka is actually an inferior version to the sumo sized Feka because size and power are what made him a force at Super League level and even then only for 10 minutes each half. Salford fans will tell you how ineffective he was last time he slimmed down.

Obviously Feka & Motu Tony go back a long way with their Somoan roots and that explains this signing.

Jonathan Walker is certainly a risk for Rovers because of his poor injury record but he's only 22 a full decade the junior of Feka and at that age it's far more likely a player can put injury woes behind him.

If J. Walker stays fit he can become a major player at Rovers for many years to come so the risk/reward equation makes him worth a punt, now that he has passed a thorough and independent medical. Doubt remains but if we are aware then Rovers are too, so there will be clauses in his contract.

Feka's career on the other hand at 32 was washed up, finished, after the years of decline from NRL to Wigan to Salford to part time in France. OK his mate Motu Tony has given him another turn in the last chance saloon but will you get more than the occasional glimpse of the player he used to be? Would you bet against him being part of next years 'ruthless' Adam Pearson cull? Many wouldn't both sides of the river.

So yes the signing of both players involves risk but the similarity ends there.
