Saints have been one of SL's big 4 since its inception, despite representing a town of about 100k people and for most of that time playing out of a somewhat dilapidated stadium, where they were losing about a million pounds a year. Eamonn McManus was willing to underwrite big losses to get success. Unless you're Leeds or Wigan that is probably the only way to do it.
