| Haven't been on this board since weekend. Can't see where our next win comes from, if sheens gets a two year deal I quite simply can't see us moving fowards as a club. However on the way home from the game on sunday I couldn't help but ask myself what does peacock do?

ooooo, I've answered this before:
Pundit
Columnist
After Dinner Speaker
Mentor
Rugby Camp Entrepreneur
England Team Manager
Fundraiser
When he can be d he turns up unannounced at Rovers' sponsors premises asking for more money
Fails to sign key targets
In that order.

| Hull FC have been much improved in the past 2/3 years but I'd say the foundations were laid before this, during the 'Radford Out' period.
Had Adam Pearson listened to the mob and started from scratch all over, I do believe Hull would have tasted the middle 8's and the instability they bring. After all, Hull had been no strangers to 10th &11th positions previously.
The rise in Hull's fortunes happens to have coincided with a downturn in ours. Well done to Hull I respect them for what they have achieved and to their fans who were quality in their reaction to the passing of Roger Millward.
Rovers are building and making good decisions for the future just like Hull during the 'Radford Out' period. Luckily for Hull they were able to ride out the storm whilst benefiting from the backstop of the no relegation licensing system.
I'm only really interested in us though and we are very lucky to have Tim Sheens. If he were showing signs of age and a lack of energy I would be concerned but he really, really isn't. Looking at his decisions I find some to disagree with but over a season a coach will have to make a million decisions.
Tim Sheens is in the very early stages of his task to make Rovers an established Super League team. He started in year minus one having to get us promoted first. How wonderful if we could see into the future and look back on what he achieved, rather than having to speculate on what might be.
I have said this before but it is worth repeating. Spend 10 minutes in the company of Tim Sheens and any doubts you have about him will disappear.

Here's another one then, just to annoy you.
Your squad, fully fit, is borderline SL quality. There are a handful of genuinely good quality players, but most are journeyman and youngsters yet to really prove themselves. It's a squad that would need everything in its favour to be able to just scrape the top 8. When you are getting long term serious injuries even before a competeive ball has been kicked, you are going to struggle. I dont know what some of you guys expect from that bunch of players. Look at the current top 6, take your Rovers hats off and tell me how many would be good enough to get a gig at those clubs. You've got Lunt, McGuire, Carney, maybe Vai Vai, Atkin has shown promise. Then there are a few younger players who the top sides might take an interest in such as Mulhern and Lawler, and that's pretty much it.
Sheens has done everything there is to do in the game. We might mock the wizard nickname sometimes or laugh about his "we lost but didnt get beaten" talks, but he is genuinely a top class coach that frankly you are lucky to have. Seriously, what do you think anyone coming in could do with an already mediocre squad that has been down to the bare bones for much of the year?
You might argue that it's his squad. I have seen comments about him identifying lack of size as an issue but not rectifying it for example. Who are all these top class big men queuing up to sign for Rovers? You can only sign guys who want to come, and when you can't even guarantee SL rugby (you were in Championship when the bulk of recruiting was being done afterall) then beggars can't be choosers. You aren't the kind of club who can just throw money at someone to get them to sign either.
Sheens is a good coach, and if you stick with him he will improve your club. It's a tough patch at the moment, but you have to stick at it. I thought some of you might have learned from the last coach you binned mid season that the grass most definitely isn't always greener.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

He was taking the shizzle, you ultimate dunce.
All that effort, from your post, we laughed until we knocked on a little bit more.
We know we're awful, we don't need endless Uber Pillock's to point it out to us.
Did you score the the points?
Did it make you all feel bigger!

Fully outed and finally hung by your own petard.
This is on a par with your awful "Kisser" magazine work.

Yes I know he was taking the p***, what about it?
I don't really care if you get relegated or not, but I also aren't one for taking joy from seeing you struggle. I never got that excited about derbys anyway, and after a decade of derby overkill it really is just another game now. I would swap that win on Sunday for us to beat Warrington this week since that would be more useful for our season. I am a rugby league supporter and like to discuss all topics about all teams and post on all forums here. Anyone calling for Sheens out is clueless. I could have come here and put something like, Sheens is a decent coach but you can't polish a turd. Instead I thought I would give a proper opinion and maybe get some discussion. You know, like a forum? Effort? It took 10 minutes if that.
I will remember to ask your permission next time though.
