| Any fan from any club can look at a defeat and say if this if that take some positives out of it but the reality is Rovers are in bottom two for a reason ..they are not good enough how anyone can say they can still make top eight is laughable. The wizard Sheens has lost his wand ,he lost it years ago. When you sign second rate injury prone players then your asking for trouble

| Getting Wigan away on Easter Monday was the last thing we needed and with a lot of injuries we couldn't even bring in fresh players. The outcome was almost inevitable, we kept it to 0-0 for 27 minutes but the energy ran out and then it wasn't a contest.
Would Huddersfield, Catalans, Salford or Widnes have done much better, I doubt it and I agree that we are in a 5 team mini league the prize being 8th place. Not saying we will come out on top of that group but certainly it is still all to play for, we have 4 games left against those teams 3 of them at home.
The Saints game saw us lose McGuire, Lawler, Heffernan and Mulhern for the entire Easter programme to add to Shaun Lunt and Danny Addy. It was bad enough going into the derby without that lot but to back up on Easter Monday at Wigan really was too tough.
The good thing I suppose is that Wigan away is a probable loss anyway and in the circumstances we may well have lost to more modest opponents.
It's going to be tough of course it is but right now is a low ebb and there will be better moments for sure. If we do end up in the middle 8's I think we will be OK. London have been going great but with much the same team that couldn't live with us last year.
As for Sheens I do wish that those who criticise could spend 10 minutes in his company they would soon change their minds.

| How do Standee? It's a bit like Dobbins. Just a play on words Airlie Birds = Curly Turds. Could be took offense at if of a delicate nature nowadays I suppose? Heard it years ago and just one of many names we each have for our neighbours.

Agree with the whole post. Think we may have missed a trick in not playing a few more youngsters on Monday with the main goal being Widnes..The fixtures were not kind in that a very tough good Saints team we pick up key injuries. Then the manner of Derby then Wigan away.Fine margins and this has echoes of 2 year ago and Easter period .Pivotal in both teams course taken.Sheens needs to ensure we don't travel same slide out of league

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |
|
| With our injuries it was probably best we did play Wigan (a game we would have struggled in at full strength) rather than one of our rivals at the bottom and lose a winnable game

| 3 weeks ago Tim Sheens said Danny Tickle was being rested so he would be ready for the easter fixtures?.
He also stated he would utilise his full squad?.There was only one change in the starting 17 from friday to monday.
A few teams changed as many as 7 players.if as someone stated we have 35 in the squad take away the injured it should still have been possible to change four or five.

That's what surprised me. You had next to no chance of beating Wigan so I would have thought Sheens would have rotated the squad. Even with the injuries you have enough depth to make some changes. The rested players would have been fresh for the far more important Widnes game. The point about Tickle is interesting. Unless he's injured it's puzzling why he didn't play.

Hull KR the pride of East Hull.: |

| Agree with some of the original post. We do need to be looking at signing some of our good young players (Atkin,Lawler,Mulhern,Oakes etc), to long term contracts. And look to build around them.
But we are were we were pretty much always going to be. This season was never really about challenging for the top 8'spot. But about making sure we get through the middle 8's unscathed and build to having a better squad next year. We always new that this squad was okay but not good enough to challenge for the top 8's. Be intresting If what i put on the chat thread is right about how many players are out of Contract this year. I can see there being a biggish turn over this year, not sure that's a good or bad thing.
We were always going to struggle with the easter programme. The way we lost was disappointing. But most people expected us to lose them both.
Main problem for me, is that we need to have 4 home games in the middle 8 with the way the championship is working out. Otherwise we could have 2/3 long trips. Which would not be ideal.
And at this moment it's hard to see were we're going to put a run of wins together to lift us up a couple of places.
It's beginning to remind me alot of the 2016 season, close and competitive in most games with the odd surprising win. Hopefully it will have a better outcome than that season.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| This is feck all like 2016.
Anyone who thinks you do anything other than survive as a promoted side is a pillock
We have no god (doesn't exist) right to be in this league.
You survive and then build.
Jesus fecking wept, the like's of Fax winning the League as a part-time out fit in 1985 under Chris Anderson was when?
1985.
And that was a massive shock.
