MIKE SMITH- THE BEST CENTRE HULL HAS EVER MADE!:

this team that has been cobbled together is as bad as its been for a long while ,halfbacks are very average , missed lunt and clark today, plus the centres ,at this stage nowhere near good enough for promotion to superleague, yet still winning , seems strange?

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.:

Horrible game in horrible weather today. We were very poor and well below par in all areas. So bad, I wouldn't attempt to rationalise it.

There was a clear man of the match today. Unfortunately, it wasn't any of the players. Referee Mikalauskas was the clear winner for all the wrong reasons. Today, he took his game of mindless decision making and inconsistent performance to whole new levels.

Fev played with greater passion and skill and deserved better. Their fans were loud but some were horrible, graceless and aggressive and consequently I am very pleased their team came up short. They booed when the man of the match stopped play for Donaldsons serious knee injury. Disgraceful.

Greater passion wasn't the issue. A shocking inability to complete sets, an awful kicking game and more injuries. Being dominated at the ruck didn't help either.
Ellis was awful. Again played off the park by his opposite number. Only positive is we defended pretty well. After scoring in the first minute of the second half we didn't complete a set for over 20 minutes.
They should have won but blew it.
Why didn't Lunt play?

The thing is it's a bit of a scratch side with injuries and the 2 games in 4 days Lunt has been a different class but needed a rest and I thought Docker clay covered him pretty well Ellis was awful and doesn't really offer much it was a good hard fought win but we desperately need a kicking game

Thinking back to the team which got us promoted we seem a little lacking in leaders.with no lunt we missed the one real leader we have.the pack is ok without being anything above average..Half's are again average.keep harping on about cas but watching them today they play so fast and moors and lefao are unstoppable.even wakey in Fifita and Salford in murdoch have that raw power and size.we have props the size of 2nd rows.2nd rows the size of centres.Clark coming back should bring aggression but we need 2 or 3 more better quality players.id also like to see us more nasty as a team.far too nice and to get out of this league we will need far more aggressiveness. It's been a failing since Morgan left.result is all that matters but as we stand now I don't see us beating a superleague side..

Stop Pi55ing up my back and telling me it's raining !!!!:fonds blancs/Calvin.gif

The things we are relearning again, is that in this league, hard tackling no compromise forwards teamed with a wily old half back, will produce results.
You may not when promotion, but a top 4 finish is attainable. But is that all we want ?
Do we need more ?

Leigh won promotion with a pack containing Hock, Hanson Moimoi, Tickle and Patterson teamed with Burns, Ridyard and Drinkwater.
This term I think only Drinkwater and Hock are playing regular in the first 17, that's a lot of player replacement and do we have that kind of financing available.

Developing young players who have super league potential seems to be our chosen option, so we may not win very battle along the way,but hopefully we can win the final challenge and get back to the top table.

In Sheens we trust (for now !!)

We got away with it yesterday because fev kicked the pens, had they backed themselves and gone for it I reckon they win that match.

Hodgson got an interception which turned it for us. I think them keeping the scoreboard ticking always kept them in it and nearly won it for them.
Other than Quinlan we were awful with the ball, particularly our 7 who disappeared. They defended the ruck well...fair. or foul.
We didn't create any repeat sets. They had 3-4 where they trapped us in goal.
Some terrible performances. Ellis 3 plus major errors then disappeared. The bigot..into touch, knock on from the kick off. Liability under the kick to the corner. At 22-18 he elbowed a player on the floor 4 tackles gone 30 meters out. It was game over if the ref saw it...dumb.
Docker Clay looked shattered end of the first half but doggedly kept defending.
We did defend well yesterday especially given the possession they had. They made very few mistakes.
When Oakes came on why the hell did Quinlan go on the wing and the bigot to full back. Quinlan is no winger and our best passer...

They kicked 8 points from pens. They would have needed to turn 3 of those 4 opportunities into (converted) tries to win the game. I'm not convinced.

Or maybe they wouldn't it did seem strange that they chose to kick when they seemed to have momentum and then go for it when they could have taken the lead our goal line defence was pretty good I thought

Great game, great atmosphere - think it couldve gone either way till Blairs try at the end

Dont know if that was the biggest away following this season to your ground? It looked like we had brought a few

Thought we were unlucky not to get something from the game - we got too excited when we took the lead shouldve been more sensible instead of making a silly offload

Some will argue we shouldve beaten you in the 8s last season and maybe shouldve yesterday, maybe revenge will come in the reverse fixture? Look forward to you all coming over in what is probably another close run game which will go down to the wire

Bradford apart it was the biggest away following and the loudest
