I reckon Widnes and Wakey still get dragged into it, massive game for you next.'"
Can't really see that been the bottom 4 the only team nailed on looks like us like you say the Widnes game is massive for us

I think you and widnes will be in the bottom 4 with any 2 from leeds, salford, wakey and hudds although cas could get dragged in too. Salford have won twice as many games as hudds and leeds this season though so in better form. I know hudds beat leeds on Friday but they were near full strength and leeds had a stack of players out so will be better when they return.
Interesting season

Up to a point, if you're confident you're right. And JP clearly is, and it's his job to decide.
If he thinks bringing in loan players will undermine the culture we're trying to build and that we need to stick to those guns, despite our injury problems and poor form, then I applaud him... nervously. Thin line between determination and stubbornness, and you can sometimes only tell in retrospect. Getting relegated would also undermine things. But if we revert to type in adversity, nowt will ever change.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I just don't think it's a good idea to say, with regards to the loan market, "No we're not going to do that".
If we had a stack of youngsters whose transition was going to be held back then fine, but as far as I know we do not.
Around about this time of year, there are always a few players who have fallen out of favour, Lunt for one is the perfect example, but we're not interested in strengthening the squad?
Really?
There's also the Aussie market, we've played with one half all year and we're ruling out a Jism type signing, and let's not forget, Dobson came to us mid season.

Yeah, it's not what I'd have done. Drawn a line in the sand, but maybe also made a rod for his back (2 for 1 at the metaphor megastore this week).
The wiggle room would be making a 'real' signing, for beyond this season. Don't think that'll happen either, unless things get even more desperate, but it remains an option.
Don't see massive value in self-imposed rules. A general principle that we're moving towards a different approach, would be fine by me. But I can understand it. My move towards a healthier lifestyle tends to always drift back to next week, or maybe the week after.

| Having said all that, JP seems to be open to strengthening the squad, from his quotes on the Rovers website. Just not short-term loan deals. With Sio and Horne possibly out for a while and a few walking wounded, possibility a necessity now.

It's alright saying this stuff but with no quota spot available, where are these players going to come from? Our usual sources of loans are facing their own injury crisis and no player worth the name is going to be freed up.
No answers, just questions.

Highly unlikely. If there is any truth in the story then he will obviously be one for the future, in the same way Oakes is. Peacock recognises the need is for this season to be bolstered.
