We've all been there watching 3rd division rugby 1-0 home defeats to barrow which makes me take a SL defeat and a poor performance with a pinch of salt I'd love to see the days of the early eighties again when I was a kid watching but it's not going to happen anytime soon

I agree with you, this is an awful season, but none of us are "better" fans than one another.
I stood behind some fifteen year old kids at Headingly last week and they were incredibly passionate about the club.
It's fine to say that people have "airy fairy" views, but what solutions are you offering?
You and I can't, unless we win the lottery, go mental and hugely invest in the club.
I know I'm not supplying and answers here, I just think it's a little more complex than saying evrything's wrong, we need to change everything. And I've deliberately over egged that phrase.

| Quote: Pickering Red "I've just got back to Pick Your Ring 15 minutes before usual. Little or no traffic on the way back helped and leaving 10 minutes before the end was a revelation. It was unwatchable for me in the second half. I was embarrassed by our ineptitude. Just had to get out of the funeral parlour that was Craven Park tonight.
I can't make my mind up if we were so bad or Catalans were so brilliant.
After some deliberation I've finally decided. Good as Catalans were and they made it look effortless at times, we were a carbon copy of our preseason performances and our home game to Wakefield. This time we were generous in coughing up possession, slapdash in defence, had a guy playing winger who gifted our opposition 3 of the first 4 tries and we all seemed half hearted and short of ideas. Add in to the mix some dubious refereeing decisions against us and no luck at all on the night and the result was a foregone conclusion after 25 mins. We did well to get zero and Cats should have put over 50 on us.
I don't buy this 4 games in 12 days mullarkey, thin squad and lack of squad rotation opportunity as a series of mitigating factors for tonight. Same for most teams. We just didn't turn up. The first 4 tries were so soft, our heads dropped.
Kieran Dixon is a TOTAL liability. He is not learning and keeps making the same mistakes. No brain and no courage. We need to get rid of him.
Onwards and upwards to the Middle 8s. Bring on 2017.'"
I know people say it's the same for all teams but I disagree Leeds who lost all three Easter period games had probably the easiest fixtures we had a hard schedule on comparison which is why tonight went pretty much like I expected

The eighties was a once in a lifetime period. But what we are going through right now isn't far off what we experienced in the early nineties. And we all know what happened after that period!
It needs fans to challenge other fans at least, not accepting the bog standard average that we are experiencing right now. Otherwise.....what's the point??Hell, we finished 4th comfortable once. What's gone wrong since those days!

| Tilse MUST go. I've defended him occasioally but....
On average he makes 5 metres, apart from 2 or 3 runs.
He offloads once per game.
He makes 2 or 3 big tackles per game and then is ineffective/falls off the rest.
He played well in the middle 8s, but cannot face up to proper forwards in the SL. He is at best a championship level player. We seriously need to get rid as his attitude is affecting the others. We need a pack leader not a passenger

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| I'm not accepting of the status quo but sanguine regarding our current plight.
No knee jerk reactions from me yet. However, I predict along with most that we won't have too many ups this season and we will remain in the bottom 4, but we should go well in the middle 8s. We will survive in SL imo.
Before the split, we need to take a long look at some of our players and make some tough contractual decisions regarding their future and our ROI. No doubt, I will get Stan and others bouncing up and down saying I know nothing about sporting contracts. Tough commercial decisions are normal when needs must and there is no area where it acts as a 2 Way Street than in sport.
To the board and JP, get tough and get rid where necessary. Just do it.

I'm not saying that one person is better than another, what I despair at is that we all (seem) to accept that what we watch at rovers is the 'norm'. Well i'll tell most of you.....it's bloody awful. The team of 2006 that beat wire in the Challenge cup quarters would muller us right now.
We've seen to of all been hypnotised that what we see is ok. Peacock hasn't shown his worth and the board have been as silent as I've ever known.
I'm just providing a different prospective to what some of you don't seem to get.

What are you actually expecting Peacock to do?

He seems pretty good at promoting his reputation, and business acumen. But I'm at a loss of what he actually does at Rovers. Could you tell me??

| That was awful at home against the Catalans 0 40
Why have we got the smallest squad in the league
We made a few quid last year
Our recruitment is poor the CEO Smith has been quiet these last months.
I know that without Hudgell and Crossland we would be finished financially
Where do we go from here. Don't say down to the coast I fear
We celebrate our tenth year in the league
Catalan have been in eleven
I remember playing them in the cup when they were UTC before promotion

I would actually try and get Livegrove back. Not perfect but a damn sight better and cheaper than Tilse. Sandercock was the reason he left.

Sorry but that 2006 side wouldn't beat the current side as good as that QF win was we got thumped in the semi and the problem with overseas signings now is not that many top class players come over and when they do they don't want to play for a bottom four club so you either take a chance ie campese and hope it comes off or take a chance on a young player from the Queensland cup

That 2006 side lost the semi without Webster, the always impressive Michael Smith, and a lot of other influential players. Don't kid yourself, that side would give out team right now one hell of a game.
We've payed top money for our overseas players, I don't get why some fans see it 'ok' that we are where we are right now. It's a bloody disgrace to me!

Erm, we lost that game.
A player we should have tried to sign, Jamal Fakir destroyed us.
