| Given the history of promoting from within, I'm surprised Jamie Peacock's named hasn't been mentioned.

| The offical statement was 'stood down'. Psycho commented on Twitter last night that Chester has walked. No official sacking.
My guess, the club is not heartless and will look to give him a new backroom role. Chester himself may have wanted to resign but the BoD didn't want to rush the acceptance. They may also have given him the old gardening leave.
As for a replacement, I'm going to mention Noble again. But whoever we choose, we need someone commands with authority rather than one of the lads. An recent ex player or current player is NOT what we need right now.
As for Rowley, he gets a lot of bad press, but is he that bad?
Agar, Harris, Webster etc don't fit my criteria. Noble and Kear are in the right area even if they have their own flaws.

| It’s a sorry state you’ve got yourselves into this is. I never so this on-field demise coming to be fair even after Wembley.
To solve this you need to bring in real experience if you're to get to where you want to be which I presume to be the heady trophy days of the 70s 80s ?? cos that’s what we all dream of.
But to bring in real experience will need serious wedge, are you still in that league ?? maybe you are I don't know. And then you have to convince the good Coach to-be that its worthwhile, that the club is being run well and has a real future.
Clearly the present squad is not really a Marketable commodity, no one worth his salt will come to work with what you have at present so promises of some sort will have to be made re. strengthening.
Promises of new buys will also cost money, but you can't just buy willy nilly can you ? they have to be 1) available and 2) you have to have room on your cap, so you can't replace all the deadwood straight away, its unlikely it will be put right even by the end of this season.
Big question is ; is the money available to bring in an experienced coach AND sort out the mess on the playing rosta ?? I hope so for your sakes.
When he comes in I think you'll be in a similar position to where Wakey were when Smithy arrived, where you'll be bringing in a "past its use by date" experienced coach. He’ll just have to motivate and educate the squad he inherits. His good contacts will bring in some once quality journeymen who'll win you some games. If you then stay up you've got a chance to start for real next season. if you go down then you may be looking for someone else to take the reigns and start again. May be at board level too.
All depends on how deep your pockets are I suppose, or, do you just lower your expectations and your dreams ???

You make a good point here.
Speaking from personal experience as both an initiator and a recipient in this regard, in all likelihood he will have been told that they intended to relieve him of his duties and asked him to resign honourably, pending finalisation of new working arrangements or compensation.
Technically a sacking in all but name, but one that allows him to walk away without any employment blemish. He could claim to future employers that it was his decision to leave. Sadly, the media view things differently and have "peed on his chips" in this matter by using the dreaded "s" word.

| I know I keep posting about campese and the fact we should have got rid,but interesting in todays rag there is list of injured players who are not close to returning for us, and lo and behold terry is among them.Chester said he may be avaiable for the opening match versus castleford yet we are nearly 4 matches in and no sign of him.Nobody can tell me the money we are paying terry to write a column in the yorkshire post and the quota space could not have been better used.Iam not saying its chesters fault, but somebody is to blame.

| There is a rumour doing the rounds that Campese wouldn't play for the club while Chester was in charge, personally I cant see any truth in that but just thought I would put it out there so to speak. Be odd if Campese does play in the next few weeks. Don't shoot the messenger

| I think the two tweets at the end of the HDM report are telling. "Justice" Sonny Esslemont and "Some news that just makes your day" Macauley Hallett. Obviously everything in the HKR garden was not rosy. That perhaps means that the Campese rumour has some truth in it. As for a replacement it has to be someone with experience and a good track record. Yes it will cost but at the end of the day if we start winning and playing attractive rugby we get more supporters through the gate and that offsets the cost.

| Quote: Paul T - HKR "You wouldn't be shocked if you saw and heard the reaction from Hudge, Robbo and Smithy after Sundays game.
The obvious choice is Webbo (not councillor Webster) simply because of his close freindship with Rovers Board.
Personally, I would go for Darryl Powell to take on the task. The club needs a hard task master. I know Darryl really well and he fits this stereotype like a glove.'"
Why would Powell want to move from a success story at Castleford to HKR?

| Paul Rowley was offered the job before Chester, so I would expect you to revisit and offer Paul the chance again.
