If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.:

I want Chezzie and Poching out now. Too nice and not tough enough. I expect the board will only act if we get a 0-3 start and the performances remain as dire as they are at the mo.

Even that might be too late. This squad lacks biff, strength, mental fortitude and without Campo, any leadership. I also think deep down that some of these players don't trust one another defensively anymore and as a result our attack is now misfiring.

Another massive prop, big ball carrying second row and a top centre are priorities. Sack Tilse, Allgood, Larroyer, Cockayne and Donaldson. Marsh is not the answer.

Need to go left field on the coach front - Sinfield, Shaun Edwards, Glenn Morrison, Richard Marshall or a big name Aussie.

Think they announced 8900 ish 500 down on last year. As giddy as I am from the high we had today, friendliest do mean nothing. However your players with a couple of exceptions seemed to be going through the motions.

I can't see where our next win is going to come from. It's a good job that we worked on defence since the Huddersfield game or we would have been really hammered. I can't see us progressing under the current regime so we have make a change now. As for a replacement; is Justin Morgan available?

Hi Hull smaller, so you should be giddy on your team, I am so envious of your side, whilst I knew your pack would be a force I was equally impressed with your edges ,quality everywhere, well done Pearson/Radford, as regards our players going through the motions, how very dare you ,some didn't have any motion.

We're witnessing a man way way out his depth. This manifested itself in the Wembley debacle when the players appeared overwhelmed by the whole thing.

This is only going to get worse and worse. He is making a colossal mess which we need to halt now before it becomes unfixable.

Why wait Chester should go now or this season will be a disaster.

The reported new signing ain't gonna help either. Another square peg..

Why the f#ck did we buy Shaw. Plenty of players in that position. Horne and the bigot retained and Welham let go....why? Tilse...had he seen him play. We were desperate at the time but then offer a 6month contract.

No worries Salter will be back soon to shaw up the edges.....

I could go on and on. Biggest give away is we have the worst defence in the league and we change nothing. Did we lay a glove on Pritchard.....him and Sneyd didn't get their shirts dirty.

If I was privy to who was available then I'd hazard a guess. Here's one tho. How about Morgan back with Clint Newton as assistant. A pairing you wouldn't f*** with.
So if your in the Chezzie in camp. What do you think he brings?

I like the sound of a Morgan/Newton partnership. At least they know what is required to win games but would they be able to do it with the current squad?

Chester asked after the match if there were any injuries. He said two. Green has a hamstring problem but can't remember who the other player is. Can't remember!! Embarrassing!

I agree PR with your sentiments.
What makes me angry is the fact that I keep hearing people saying...well its only a friendly and its meaningless etc.
What are these people on for gods sake? was it not also a friendly for Hull as it was also for Huddersfield last week? , I wonder if they had the same unprofessional mind set, obviously not.
Many people including myself said at the end of last season that we had reservations about Chester and Pochings (especially Pochings) ability to take the club forward but thought ok, we will give them the benefit of the doubt and see how the close season turns out.

Well the close season is now over and we are just 2 weeks away from our 1st competitive game, looking no better than were we left off at the end of last season and in fact possibly even worse in some departments.
As you say, we lack some big punch up front, something Hull looked to have in abundance today though its to early to predict just how good they will be against better opposition, most people you talked to at the end of last season realised that we did not have the weight and aggressiveness up front and was something that needed to be addressed so, why did Chester and his coaching team not realise it and make it one of their priorities.
Of our current crop of players I would say Donaldson is a grafter but simply not big enough, Cockayne looked out of sorts and I wonder if his heart is really in it anymore.
Marsh once again looked ineffective, he just does not appear to have that self confidence to boss a game, the centres were also disappointing though I still believe they do have potential and are still young enough to realize it and mature into good players.
When you watch Rovers you do get the impression that it does not take much to knock them off their game, which fits in with your comment regarding mental fortitude.

With regards to who would we get in as head and defence coach replacements, I would imagine this is what JP and Mike Smith are paid to do and I would hope that they are already making some kind of contingency plans should Rovers find themselves in a position where they have to take drastic action early in the season. icon_mad.gif

The 4 tries in 9 minutes in 1st half killed the game. Without that spell it would have been competitive. But thats the point isn't it. 4 tries in 9 mins is not SL quality.

We have bags of unrealised potential in this squad but the Chester/Poaching combo doesb't look set to unlock it.

Early signs are indeed positive, but I have long since learned not to get too giddy too early. Especially from something that had nothing at stake.
Your side needed to address the grunt up front and you have not really, and I think that clearly you are paying a few players maybe more than they should be on.
Our pack is a monster and when we get Ellis back I reckon up there with the best.
Time will tell how we go, I said sixth which if are a "comfortable" sixth would be an improvement. See how the others go.

I do think you will be bottom four.
