| It's awful that fans are being made to watch home matches on tele because they can't get to the night games, especially the Thursday's. Sky have the RFL and the clubs by the balls and they are squeezing tight. 50 od quid a month for a sky subscription, per household, I know some fans have sky and some don't, but it's getting to the stage where they will start forking out for sky rather than tickets and passes. The red button games at the end of last season were another nail in the coffin. There is no easy answer, but whilst it's easy to blame individual clubs, it's worth noting we are one of the few fighting this, trying to retain Sunday games.
And as somebody said on Twitter yesterday, if we want to play every Sunday Could be arranged, as long as we are willing play in championship 1.

But having studied the fixture list I have taken the decision not to bother with a season pass & I doubt i will get to any games. Only 4 home games on a Sunday, I just wont go to night games as I dont get home untill after midnight & having to hang around the station for well over an hour is just what I dont want on an evening. I was looking forward to taking my grand daughter but no way can I take her on thursday or friday nights. I have written to the club but I doubt it will do any good? for me it as been awfull to realise that I wont be going anymore & any claims to be a family club are now gone it is a club for anyone but families. It is one of the sadest days of my life & feels like a bereavment.'"
I totally relate with your post.
As with last season, in 2016 I will be attending more away games than home games. It is a ridiculous situation. I am sure there are many supporters as deeply affected by the lack of Sunday games.
My concern is once the 'habit' of attending matches is broken it is a habit many affected supporters will easily fill with other distractions.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

That's rubbish mate, what's the problem?
Why will you have to hang around the station for an hour?
Could you get a train or bus from anywhere else if you could get a lift somewhere?

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| Anyone living within 5 minutes of a route from Pickering through Malton, Norton, Wetwang, Bainton, Beverley ( A1079 Bypass near Morrisons) is welcome to a lift to and from your front door or a close pick up point to the KC Lightstream home games. I have a stadium parking permit too.
Only exception is Home Game vs Leeds on the last game of the regular season.
Space for 2 or 3 in the back. Wife and I up front. DM me if interested.

| I think there's been a massive over reaction to the fixtures we have as many Sunday matches as last season and is attending a Friday night fixture really that much of hardship for fans it's not really the clubs fault also as sky rules what we do

It is not rubbish, I don't want to be out late at night or drive to the ground, I am in bed most nights by 10pm that is the way I live, my choice but after 50 odd years of 4am starts at work that's the way it is. I am sorry if I don't conform to your norms.

Why will you be attending more matches away than home? As far as I can see we only have 3 away matches on a Sunday afternoon. Wire, Hudds and Cas.

You misunderstand me squire.
I meant it's rubbish for you after so many years of going to games.
I would never tell anyone else how to live their life, my own isn't always that conventional.
I'm sorry I offended you, it wasn't my intention at all.

No offence but if you've been a supporter for 50 odd years what did you do when midweek matches were the norm every week and even playing on Christmas day surely those days were a lot worse for attending games

No offence really but as you can appreciate after all these years it is annoying to say the least. I have had a pass for the last 15 years & the last couple of years I really have had no value from it is not the cash as at least it helped the club but to have only 4 games that I can attend is the last straw. I will have Sky & Rovers TV but would much sooner attend live games. & as someone has posted attending matches is a habit, break that habit & you loose fans, I wanted to bring my grand kids but that is impossible for night matches. Rovers loss will be York's gain & better to get to for me & just round the corner from the grand kids. I just feel so disillusioned as I have given a lot of time for this club I played in the reserves for a while, My son played in the academy so I am not giving up lightly. Maybe it progress but it leaves me with an empty feeling.

When I was younger I played in the reserves & biked into Hull but later I missed a lot of games because of work & living abroad but I was not a season ticket holder then & that is the difference I wont buy a pass now & if I have to buy tickets in advance for home games I wont bother anymore.

| Continuing the fixture list debate: I have already stated I have been a longstanding passholder, but of the 23 league fixtures in 2016 I will only be able to attend FOUR home games contrasted with 6 maybe 8 away games. TBH I am shocked by this reality.
When you consider how my work schedule has not changed in the past five years during which time I have generally attended the majority of home and away games, it does rankle. However, because of the introduction of Thursday matches (and the player safety policy it invokes) I found last season frustrating to say the least.
Looking at the structuring of Rovers fixture list, it has ruled out renewing my pass, and TBH it has been quite heart wrenching to take this decision. I feel more aggrieved because what made it possible last season to see more games was the number of accessible fixtures on Fridays. I work in Leeds but live on the edge of the East Wolds. On Fridays I don’t finish until 7pm. This time around I will only get to Headingley and maybe the game at Huddersfield.
Fortunately I am able to attend all 7 Sunday fixtures (home and away), the jolly over in France (Saturday), but I miss out on Magic due to the late KO (9am lecture in Leeds on the Monday!).
When you consider I live less than an hour away for the Lightstream you can perhaps understand my frustration. Anyway, I will keep the faith. . . and watch some of the matches through gritted teeth on SKY and HKRtv.

I can understand you not buying a pass and I don't think anyone could question your loyalty after 50 years but it seems a bit sad if you gave up altogether
