Depends what you aspire to be.

Does it? Regardless of where we finish in the league, we aren't going to be winning the super 8's this year.
Does it bode better for next season finishing this year with a (in theory at least) easier end of the season against teams we should beat comfortably? Obviously I want Hull KR to finish as high up the league as possible but I'm thinking more of possibly generating some momentum for next season by having a flying finish to this one. Does that make a difference? Who knows.

We'd have to stuff Hull by a very unlikely amount to put it back in our own hands. So realistically, we have to beat them, beat (or at least draw with) saints and hope for a favour from Wigan. Long shot, to say the least - even if saints rest a few ahead of their semi.
Widnes and Salford are reet up our chufty though and we want the four home games in the middle 8, that is for sure. So still a big game on Friday, with more than just pride at stake.

| Middle eights are now a pipe dream regardless of what Chester says. today was important if We won and FC Lost it would take some pressure off, but all results went against us today any hope of saving players for the semi are now gone. Chester now has to decide if he wants to risk us finishing 11th with a harder run in. that being said, if we lose the Derby I can see us finishing in 11th anyway.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |

| I wasn't at the Salford game this afternoon, but listened to the RH commentary. Listening to that second half, you just knew what was coming.
If you went, let us know how our forwards performed. Sounds like we got outmuscled and outclassed up front and we switched off around the ruck. They seemed to make easy metres helped in part by some crap officiating, a high penalty count against as we lost composure and the same old problem with poor line speed and soft contact.
I wouldn't put the team up in a hotel the night before Chezzie. Everything was premier today except the game, the result and the performances we needed.

| Winning the top 8 is impossible for anyone outside the top 4 clubs at this time, but being in the 8's means one theing only for us, you don't have to get mixed up in a dog fight for survival. I could live with being 8th and losing all 7 games. My worry is that Salford and Widnes will be very hard to beat in the middle 8's, especially if we get them away and Wakey won't be a pushover. We NEED to beat FC next week as I can see one of Widnes or Salford sneaking another win next week and they play each other in the last game. If we don't win next week we are likely to finish 11th and have 4 away games.

You might want to re-think that.

| There I was at half time, listening to Hull Kingston Radio and planning a celebratory Bastille Day watching a comfortable Rovers win on HKR TV, then the inevitable happened. Luckily the wife called me away for my tea just as Salford levelled.
I just wonder why anyone goes to away matches when the team don't seem to turn up (or in this case leaves early)?
I think its in Rovers DNA, after watching them on and off for more than 50 years they've always been the same, a bad team full of good players.
Wonder if I can get half price HKR TV for just the home games next year?

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| That second half was absolutely terrible, Widnes was bad enough but at this stage of the season a performance like that is not only unacceptable, it's criminal.
We actually got more of a hiding off Child in the first half. Our discipline is still,a major, major problem and we underline this with stupidity.
I'd like to have another look at a couple of Salford's tries that I thought might have contained knock on's. And also how a touch judge that was sixty metres away saw an obstruction for the disallowed Larroyer try that wasn't seen by Child, (ten metres away) the in goal judge (fifteen metres away) and the other touch judge (thirteen point seven metres away).

| Just watched the try's on the sky sports website, for the first Rovers try on the 2nd half it was the right decision a rovers player pushed a Salford player off the ball, really dumb play .
Their 2nd try looked a but dodgy, but I think it comes off the players chest which isn't a knock on us it?
BJB 2nd should have been disallowed for a forward pass/ knock on.
