There are quite a few parallels between JM and Pat Richards.
Pat Richards didn't have a great first season for Wigan - playing at centre didn't help. But once he started playing on the wing and kicking goals for fun, his confidence improved and he became a Wigan legend.
Pat was and still is a long legged winger who was faster than be seemed (age has slowed him now).
