| It looked horrible and a sending off was the only option really.
However it was instinctive not malicious and not nasty IMO.
Whereas the numerous late shots on Dobson were not only nasty but actually a pre-planned calculated strategy. IMO.

Quite agree, I thought Hall was just too good for him and unfortunately paid the price. Your remarks about Dobson are spot on. I never took Saints to be a dirty team but it certainly seemed they were looking to take Dobson out of the game.

Remind me who their new coach is and where he was last season and how his previous team behaved?
The guy obviously thinks 'questionable' tactics in or out of the tackle is fair game.

| It was a bad tackle. Not sure it was particularly malicious and more a case of him being wrong footed and throwing his arm out. burns on crooks was much worse IMO. He chased across to crooks and purposely swung his arm/fist around into his face. I think if crooks had stayed down as hall did burns would have walked (Although we were so bad that day you'd have won with 12 men which would have been even more embarrassing than it was anyway)

The view from that "stand" is disgraceful. I've stood there a couple of times for derbies and if were only a tenner I'd put up with it but have stopped attending the CP derbies since we couldn't get in the golf stand. I'll go next season if we can get tickets in the north but won't pay full pops again for the view from the south

^^ THIS ^^
Nathan Brown seems determined to rid Saints of "The Entertainers" tag. As a club they have long had an ethos of never being frightened to move the ball around and play open and expansive football. I think the change of culture is doing them more harm than a lack of half-backs would suggest

difference in the pictures above is that the Bollyvard pics where taken on steps closer to the top. The rovers pic taken from steps close to the bottom. Not a great deal difference in how far you are from the action. The hoarding close to the pitch should go though.

Difference is that at the boulevard I could stand as high as I wanted and also didn't have to stand behind the sticks. The view from half way up the terracing at the boulevard was miles better than the view from the top of the south terrace at CP.
Even odsal, where you're miles away from the pitch, is a much better view than your south stand. When watching a game from there you don't have a clue where on the pitch the play is if in the northern half

| It was a bad one and rightly punished. No debate there.
As for you saying it was a tactic to hit Dobson? Really? The only one on him that was illegal was pulled up by the ref and that was Wilkin. He was putting kick pressure on him...hardly a 'tactic' in the sense you seem to be conveying.
As for the view, well I went to the SL game and it was horrendous...can't see past the 20m properly because there is no elevation. I saw little point in going yesterday with it being on the television.

| Will be interesting to see the length of Meli's ban for this seeing as I doubt anyone would say it was intentional, however shocking.
Regarding Dobson though, I think it's pretty clear that Saints came out with the intention of giving him a bit of a going over as he parted with the ball, it happened 3/4 times early on. Brown is a master at that kind of spoiling play, it's a shame that he's dragging Saints down into playing that brand of rugby when they've always been such an attractive side to watch.

That will have away fans queuing up for tickets next time......
There is a thread on the Saints board about fans not going because of the view, I suspect this is felt throughout SL.
I can just see Hudgell sat chuckling whilst the fans take the mickey about coming all that way to not be able to see, but yet wondering how much potential lost revenue it causes.
Of course they will be flcoking there when the new stand is finished.
Good win though.

| Doesn't the early plea apply to lower grade offences only, I thought if the ban was likely to be 3 games you could not go for it.
