| I stick by my statement about us being fans because until you play super league you will never know how hard it is, that is why I get so annoyed with so called fans slagging off players. It doesn't matter how old or experienced you are rugby is a tough sport

Yes I would expect you would have done where you stand, was right at the bottom of the steps.

I played rugby at a very good standard, G.B. Amatuer and Northern Ford, playing rovers on a no of occasions.
When our games did not clash i was stood on the east stand terrace cheering Rovers on as a FAN.
No one ever mentioned rugby league not being tough, never mind super league that even goes for junior rugby, because it doesnt matter how old you are you still need a big heart to play.

| True you do need a big heart to play the game, my husband played professional rugby and I have been involved in junior rugby for seven years, you have to be proud of all who play the game, the ones who slag the players off are the ones who have never played the game

| Totally agree with you on that one.
Some people see going to rugby matches now as just another day to get pi$$ed up and abuse anyone from players to fans, both their own and the oppositions.
That seems to be where we are heading at the moment regaurdless who you support.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Who'd you play for chief?
I admit, I've shouted the odd inflammatory/abusive remark to a player, usually more pi55 taking than anything else. I really do not like to see people venomously spouting bile at a player of either team. I usually think; "would I go up to that bloke in the pub and speak to them like that?" the answer is always "NO". a) Because I believe you should treat people with respect and b) I'd rather they didn't knock the living sheite out of me!
As for gobbing off to fans, I think we've always had an idiotic element, remember people fighting amongst themselves in the upper tier at the 2006 CC semi after about ten minutes? As the club has grown, we've attracted more of these pillocks, their very easy to avoid and you would definitely have to go looking for trouble (unless you were very unlucky) at RL to get into any, but, i would very much like to see the club do more to be ejecting these types much earlier and repeatedly or banning them all together.
I'm all for having a drink (although MM aside I rarely do at the rugby) and a laugh but being a foul mouthed drunken lout has no place in my life, if it started to get worse than it is I would have no problem contacting the club with my concerns.

Totally agree about the big heart, what people dont understand is the aches on the Monday morning even in amateur abuse stems from the touch line, playing the game is a sport and a lot of the people who do support KR are ex players of the game, it seems to be the football element creeping into our game, be good to have a inter supporter tournament though wouldnt it..

| Quote: blakeysrobin "I came down for a beer at halftime from the west stand and couldnt believe the language and hatred from about 6 so called fans (2 were women with young children) stood in the well near the food and drink counter. The men were holding 2 beers each and clearly drunk and were calling Menzies all the names under the sun and imitting monkey noises when the cats 'shall we say' darkest player had the ball. A steward (on his own and about 1icon_cool.gif went across eventually to calm them down (they didnt) but they should have been ejected for me.'"
I sent this post to my other half as he was talking about a group of 'fans' in the well when he came home from the match. This was his reply..
These are the ones who were hassling the stewards to let them outside into the car park at half time. Why? Well that's anyones guess because they were already having a fag where they were stood. And I can guarantee none of them had a car in the car park because they didn’t look like they had intelligence to learn to drive, plus they were all plastered. I suspect they were all going for a joint (or worse). They eventually got out into the car park by going back round and out of the main turnstile entrance, all of them, in one go walked off towards the trees near the South Stand. They all returned about 5 minutes later.
One of them I see at all home matches, he looks a bit like Chief Wiggum from The Simpsons but with stubble. He stands in the well next to the food and drink counter shouting his gob off, he thinks he's proper hard. I think he stands in that location because it's close to the chocolate, pies and beer. If these new additions to his clan are going to be a regular occurrence I can see trouble brewing around there.

| I've often found shouting and screaming at the players does little to help, telling them your not angry just disappointed tends to do the trick..
or is that kids you do that with..

I wish someone would tell mad Simon the Statistician that, I thought he was going to have a stroke at St's last season.
