His form is less than ordinary at the moment, as is that of the whole team. He was superb last season though, and there is no reason he can't get back to that.
Filling in for the unfortunate Dykes and Horne in 2008 or as an alternative to Thorman in 2009, he'd have done Hull proud. Even this year, Long's impact has been limited so far. With hindsight it looks a poor decision to me.

Have to agree if we have haf Dobson the last 2 years we would have finished in the play offs both years IMO, gobe further in the CC last year, would have paid for himself with the extra sucess on the field.

| Personally think Dobson is a Class Act,was when at Cats and Wigan no different now.Often said to my mate who is a Rovers fan, that watching you at the minuite reminds me of Us when Jason Smith was here.Fantastic player ,but because EVERYTHING goes through him it makes your attack easier to nullify.I think the decision to offload Cooky could backfire as he brought different skills to the party, just wasnt allowed to show them,as it didnt fit in with the Game Plan.
What you need is a young up and Coming English coach to take you onto the next level. Can you get Hudge to Find out if Agar used the same pen as Cooky on his contract. That would be one cross city switch I could happily live with.

We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Dobson can be a class act, he's got pace, goal kicking accuracy and knows how to play a very flat line.
Problem with this is a flat line is worthless when a good well drilled defence get into your face giving Dobbo less time with the ball to make a decision. If we were to use Dobsons flat attack along with a second phase out the back that can punnish any on rushers with a tidy little tip on it would increase our attacking potency.
This is unfortunately soemthing we dont have, with Galea we have a similar sort of flat attack and by moving him to loose man and Murrell to hooker we cant really do too much with Scotty. I'd also like to see Scotty have more of a say in the kicking department, he can land a ball on a five pence piece 30yrds away and Byron Ford made a good living off these in the early days a lot like Raynor and Yeaman did off Cooke's long cut out passes.
I dont mind if Dobson stays or goes, I think we'd live without him and we'll struggle to find a stand off that can play alongside him, however if we can just get that second phase worked out we could find ourselves in some very good attacking plays and not have to find both half backs possibly a loose man and a world class centre in the off season.

| Hope he stays, with the right 6 he would be even better, but if he goes we move on. We should look at bringing someone through for 2001 so one of the half backs in the u21's or u18's should be looking to step up.
If we can finish in the top 8, we will be almost guarenteed an average 8th finish next time the franchises come around and if we sacrifice a play off spot for 2011 to bring on some youngsters, that will go in our favour as well.

| He's always struck me as more mercenary than badge-kisser TBH. Blimey, if he goes we're struggling for a best scrum half in the city (Long obviously doesn't count as he's only played about 3 times).

Why would we be struggling for a best scrum half in the city? Doesnt make sence. Granted its likely to be Lewis Holdstock.

Out of our existing squads? Horne, Tansey, Berrigan or I'Anson? None of the above.

That super-close relationship with Riolo that Morgan has looks a bit double-edged now. Is he next?

| I am quiet amazed how many kr fans are saying, if he leaves "oh well" like he isn't that great. Had a poor few games and they forget about all the games he has won for them.

Don't be amazed! The team haven't performed well this season and there does seem unrest in the camp.
You have to look forward not back and if Dobbo is not happy then we move on.
He has won us a fair few games tho' I'll give you that!
The Half back combo has been a problem at Rovers for many years
