| Quote: barham red "Think thats the problem with a lot of your lot, big up a young player far too quickly then knock them down hard when they have their enivitable dip in form. For a young player this can be hard to come back from.
anyway back to our potential signings, I personally wouldn't be too disappointed if its not a 'marquee' signing , lets face it most of these end up being hyped up so much they can only ever be a let down. I'd much rather have a good player who is a 'right fit' into our team then sign a Lockyer type and have to reshuffle our team around him.
As was said we need a hooker, and as far as I'm concerned Scotty Murrell is not a Hooker and is far to good at Loose to warrant a move, so I would hope for a decent hooker to come in and fill the role.'"
dont know how you can say that to be fair....... pretty sure there were a hell of alot of KR not happy with Lovegrove and saying he shouldnt be kept... now look at him.

I agree there were a few on Lovegroves back but I don;t believe Lovegrove was ever hyped up as high or dropped as low to the extent of a Tommy Lee.
To be fair there were a fair few people on Morgans back last year so I'll give you we have some fans as bad as each other. Maybe we've been shielded from it by perfoming well.

Good to see Wheeldon get plenty of gametime, but Morgan's options have been limited by Aizue's mysterious non-selection, Fozzard's form dropping off and Mills being of reserve standard only.
Now this really is what you call a Rizzla argument!
To paraphrase, what you appear to be saying is that Morgan's options have been limited by his own decisions.
Aizue- not selected. Coaches prerogative, he doesn't need a reason, it's his job to pick the team.
Fozzard- drop in form. Any chance of you naming a player that's ripped it up for 27 rounds, the CC and through the play offs in every single game? I'll make it easy for you, you can pick from any season from 1895 to present day.
Mills- reserve standard only. I'll grant you with hind sight it was certainly a mistake to give Mills an extension, but again, it's the coaches job to reassess players and pick the team. If we'd suffered injuries at the same time to Vella, Fozzard, Wheeldon, Lovegrove and Aizue then he'd have all of a sudden become a very valuable squad player.
Just to be clear, putting a wink at the end of your post is not a licence for said post to contain an absolute load of old tut.

| Quote: Sheldon "it looked like we wanted to make him into a impact prop from the bench, i myself was a little harsh on him begining to mid season last year saying he wasn't worth a new deal but that was forgetting he was our youngest prop we shouldn't have expected him to be the one leading the way with the likes of carvell, thackray, king, cusack and dowes playing along side him.
hull fans laugh at the reported 50k a year but i think hes worth it, not saying hes getting it, considering we kept king and thackray (on surely bigger deals) and signed maloney.
another f*** up!'"
Tell them to keep laughing. Knowhere near!!

| Barista's definition of "top quality" is players from the bottom club in the NRL, and we won't be signing any of them!

| Hudgell mentioned a couple of 'top-drawer' additions would be made to the squad. What constitutes 'top-drawer' is subjective and bringing in young British players with potential is something I applaud. I'm happy with the signing of Cook. I'll also be happy if we sign a hooker, but if it is Hodgson I'd think NH was guilty of a [ilittle[/i bit of hyperbole. I'd forgive him immediately and welcome Hodgson, but giving Mrs B a stick, even a small one, to beat us with is regrettable - there are few more tenacious.
Note to NH: stress 'youth', 'British' and 'potential' - 'top drawer' makes idiots on message boards get all over excited about Lockyer or Crocker.
Does the signing of Cook make us think it more likely be Stanley Gene's last season as a player? I suppose with Lovegrove and Netherton playing more in the front row, it ain't neccessarily so. If we are only signing two from outside the club, does that mean 2 or 3 more will be promoted from the reserves/academy? I hope so, personally.

| Just reading that Wire have signed Solomona. Waiting to be shot down on this and im not certain on his quota situation but id have loved to have seen us take a gamble on him on a one year, maybe pay as you play deal. He's the type of forward we are lacking imo. Would've been the new Michael Smith
