Quote: super_fc "Yeah and I respect that, however all I'm saying is, if you're going to develop one part of the ground then surely the logical thing to do would be to build a stand suitable for away fans. A lot of you might disagree but I just don't think extending the east stand should be youre priority tbh.'"

Yes the away facilities need improving but having use of a multi-million pound stadium didn't exactly drag the wire lot to your last home game did it?

IMHO most people use facilities as an excuse not to bother and in the case of a lot of clubs it's the pot calling the kettle black.

We need to increase the capacity and the facilities but it should be overall as just ploughing resources into away facilities is false economy.

Quote: Stan Butler "Fans stay away because they can't get in the East??'"

I think they do. I've been a season pass holder for the last 15 years, however due to personal circumstances (no-longer living in Hull) I didn't get one this season, and whether or not I make the effort (and pay the train fair) to come to a home game usually depends on if I can get into the East Stand, (of which they are only 250 tickets on general sale per-game).

As much as I love Rovers it just isn't the same if you can't share the experience with friends/family and have a good old sing song in the East Stand by being dumped in the golf stand whilst its raining.

I've made it to more away games this year icon_eek.gif

East stand has to be a priority. With the extension we could be attracting an extra 1500 to the game (new fans who want the experience of being in the East but don't want to sit in the Nth stand with no cover). A better away fans stand would maybe bring in another 3-400 away fans on average. The away support at the KC is probably only 500 more than come to CP and for a few times is probably not much different and for at least 3 teams is no different.

The money needs to be spent where best return will be and that is the east stand. Getting an extra 1500 will basically pay for teh East stand within 2 seasons.

It was also take the couple of hundred Rovers fans that currently frequent the Nth stand because they can't get in the East and leave the Nth stand for away fans only. Get a temporary roofing structure in teh Nth stand, improve the toilets and food for that stand and everyones happy.

A lot of people sit in the golf stand because they want to sit, not stand up, and can't afford season passes for the Millward Stand. Extending the East Stand is a great move, and it will sell, I think that and another temporary stand at the other side is a good move, and then hopefully survive the next franchise system (if they keep the franchise system as it is, we will get a B), and then building the great new stand that was planned.

I'm sure you know, it was just over 8k. Rightly or wrongly, many people [iwill[/i genuinely stay away if they can't get in the east or millward stands. Compare your attendances before and after the kc move if you want proof of that.

Increasing the east stand and covering the temporary seats (as they have done at quins) would be a good initial step to attract more support to the stadium and in the long term a new stand behind the sticks that accommodates both home and away support.

I spoke to a friend over the weekend who sits in on some of the council meetings, aparently, after a meeting last week, rovers were given the go ahead with their development plans and there could be some announments in the not to distant future.
If i hear anything more concrete (unintended pun) i will let you know.
