| Quote: Mild Rover "The second link seems more realistic, IMO. The East stand's 2nd extension should be happening anyway, with investment from the NHS helping out. Getting the North stand built is massively important, and fairly ambitious in its own right in the current climate. The golf stand could then be moved to the South end, which should be sufficient for now, but leaves room for further development, should it be necessary.
At least the HDM campaign increases pressure on the council to do something.'"
how many does the golf stand hold tho'??

Think its about 1200 so you would have to bring double the fans to a derby

| Does anybody else think describing a stadium with a 15k capacity as 'super' is a bit incongruous? Old Trafford and the Camp Nou are super stadia. I know that the aim is to generate excitement, but it'd be more accurate and more saleable as prudent to call it a modest, but modern community stadium. For Hull KR.
Actually, slightly O/T, but how often is the KC used for events other than Hull City and Hull FC games nowadays?

| Developing New Craven Park would be a much simpiler and viable option, the 15k 'Super Stadium' as Fewey put it makes no sense at all, Craven Park has had some good new development in the last few years. The East Stand extension I would say could be regarded as a sucsess and also the development of the youth centre under the East Stand wher the groundmans store used to be. A fraction of the cost of a new stadium could be spent on improving the facilities and infrastructure at the existing stadium, there is the land available in the surrounding area of CP so why not just stay put and improve on what we have?

The cynic in me suspects that 'Join our campaign for gradual improvement of existing facilities' would not generate much interest or sell many papers. Backing the existing Hull KR North stand plan, as the facebook page does, while seemingly more sensible, might see accusations of a lack of independence aimed at the HDM.
To me a journalist should report or at most offer opinions. Campaigning is crossing the line into politics.

It is a bit odd. To say East Hull "needs" a 15k stadium is a bit like me saying I "need" another new handbag. I'd like one, but it would be an unnecessary luxury that would be underutilised. This is not a dig, just a statement of fact. I'm really not sure what his agenda is TBH other than self-publicity and a desire to show pro Rovers coverage following the fall-out with them at the end of last year.

AFIK its hasn't had anything other than FC/City since The Who played there. I'd imagine the RL internationals will come back at some time. No idea about concerts though.

A woman who recognises the difference between 'need' and 'want'!
Not between 'fact' and 'opinion', though.
However, I do agree with your opinion in this instance.
Building on what is already there and completing the currently planned improvements looks a realistic and sensible approach. Even more so after Fewey intervened with his probably unrealistic and madcap alternative. Good lad.
