You had pointed out to you quite politely on several occasions.

| Quote: GraftonRed "They don't, nobody said they do...
To save you going through it all...
What was said...
"They have a fantastic infrastructure, they probably have more support staff and backroom staff than they have players. They have conditioners, sports scientists, that earn more than THE head coach and have 4 or 5
internationals as assistant coaches..."
Note... "THE" head coach, not "OUR" head coach.
Note the wording of my original post.
If the comment made by NH was not referring to Sandercocks, then he must have been referring to Shaun Wane. So the question remains, why would Wigan pay the head coach less than an assistant or a conditioner?

Another "classy" response, but wrong again!
Quote: Tarquin Fuego "Hudge told the BBC that Wigan's many assistant coaches are paid more then CS
Very poor to discuss your coach's wages in a public forum and compare them to other club's assistant coaches
It was only a few years ago you finished 4th and beat Wigan
Not classy from NH'"
My polite response, in kind, just to try to correct your obvious misinformation, no abuse.
Quote: Tarquin Fuego "No he didn't...
Referring to Wigan, the part you allude to...
....They have a fantastic infrastructure, they probably have more support staff and backroom staff than they have players. They have conditioners, sports scientists, that earn more than THE head coach and 4 or 5 internationals as assistant coaches...
No, no mention of CS there.
Very poor to make things up, not classy from TF.'"
Then in true Sin Bin fashion, the abusive response...
Quote: Tarquin Fuego "There you go IDIOT - check your non classy facts first
"There's been a feeling and realisation over the last couple of years that we were starting to hit a bit of a glass ceiling.
"If you compare ourselves with the really top clubs, there's a gulf in facilities and resources and fan base.
"If there was one real positive from last Monday it's realising that, in some respects, we're light years behind Wigan.
"They have conditioners, sport scientists and have four or five ex-internationals as assistant coaches who earn more money than OUR head coach."'"
abusive response backed up with more bull
Quote: Tarquin Fuego "
Read the last line and that is what I was clearly referring to ! OUR being CS , read it online at BBC Rugby League , not hard to read it right and I am afraid Grafton Red doctored his account to fit his non classy argument
Keep backtracking all you want, but look behind you, wouldn't want you to fall in that hole that keeps getting deeper.

I have,
Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "Not taking sides on this, as I simply cannot be bothered to either read nor listen to the related articles but..........
Why would Wigan pay assistant coaches more than the head coach? That doesn't seem reasonable.

You did say "assistant coaches" not "assistant or a conditioner", it depends who/what the assistant assists, and i really have no idea how much salary a "sports scientist" can command.

| Heard what I thought was a cracking idea from the lad who runs brid -football team on the radio last night in regard of raising funds to help out at rovers. If the supporters trust can get 5000 to pledge a fiver a month through the bank this would raise 300000.add this to what Hudgell Crossland already invest and would this be enough capital to reignite their interest in staying and running the club.

Good idea but to get 5000 is maybe asking a lot but some one should give it a try

| The trouble with reading this forum is you have read loads of pages without much info! Two points I would raise are...
Hull FC fans need to be careful what they wish for Derby's are great for fans and it is better that KR are in SL. Even though Hull FC are in a better place money wise are they delivering to their aspirations?
I think Hudgell rant wasn't the best idea. We need loads on money pumping in and we can't compete with the big boys? Better to just say we as stepping away to focus on other business ventures as it doesn't give future investors any confidence. Worse sale pitch in the history of rugby.
Two pages about if the word Our or THE was used? If he was comparing that to Shaun Wane HE will be on more than Craig S and if he was refering to CS it's as the previous poster said. Either way the basic of what he said was Wigan have an extensive backroom staff on good wages. The details isn't worth arguing over the finer points.

It was hardly a rant and it certainly wasn't a sales pitch.
It is what it is and it is on plain view, there's no point in selling it as it as something it isn't because...
1. It isn't likely to work and
2. Even if it did, we've sold to a soon to be disappointed dimwit
We're a middling SL club who will draw in something like 7-9k fans depending on the economic climate and on field success. We lose some hundreds of thousands of pounds just to get by at the level we are, but by the standards of SL as a whole that is actually... well, if not 'modest' also definitely not unusual. There's a foundation there for somebody to build some real sporting success, if they have the cash and the desire.
And I imagine it'd be a clean-ish slate with no especial mess to clean up - when did that opportunity last arise?

Brings back memories of the stupid acronyms I used to put on the backs of my love letters to my girlfriend (now wife) when away with the navy (S.W.A.L.K etc).

| Here is a genuine idea - start a Supporters Fund to raise £500k . However don't hand it over like Bulls fans did BUT wait until a new owner/takeover comes along and pitch in a 49% owners ala Barcelona type set up (within reason).
My thoughts are that you may go into admin IF a buyer isn't found and if a Supporters Trust has £500k then you have a large bargaining chip when it comes to a new owner moving in etc
just a thought

i disagree. i think hudge has lost the faith that rovers have any cope for progerssion hence the reason for wanting out. they have hit their glass ceiling if you like. if major success was achievable, hudge would have it done so under his name. he is and, has been for sometime now. just looking for a dignified exit

| I don't think hudge would have come out with this statement without there being some serious interest in the club, He would have surely done it in a different way if it was just a case of the club ctting it's cloth according to income in the future. 2 scenarios here I think. Either there are some interested parties (party) who are not committing for whatever reason and hudge is trying to push them along, or there is someone who may not be totally popular and hudge is just painting a doomsday scenario so anything seems better in the future.
Either way, rovers will definitely be in SL in the future and probably cashed up with a new owner.
Had to laugh at the comment in the wail from lowe about tovers being the best brand in rugby league though
