Not me - I quoted word for word what Schofield says in League express and he has Hull finishing 8th & Rovers 9th.



Not that it matters what Schofield thinks but he wrote off both Hull teams this time last year and....well he wasn't wrong was he.



For sure I think he has got it right about Rovers we have chosen to go with a very small squad and I think that is a massive gamble. Peacock says he has put things in place so as to reduce injuries and goodness we have to hope that proves to be the case.



Comparing with the squad we finished with last season, 2 forwards have come in (Clarkson & Mulhern) whilst 6 have departed (Puletua, McCarthy, Burke, Ollett, Cox & Esselmont). In the backs we have 2 players who will probably not play a single game (Oakes & Shaw) so really we are running with a squad of 24 or 25. Wakefield have 33.



If we go relatively injury free (including Campese) then we could finish as high as 6th but if injuries bite hard again we'll go into meltdown IMO.

I'd like to know how you could put something in place to reduce injuries. Surely they are down to bad luck!

Totally agree with you, we need a fully fit squad for as long as possible.

I think conditioning and rehab play a part in players becoming injured and how long they're out but it's not as if leeds never have any injuries is it?

Well it seems pretty clear we've made a real hash of pre-season. No disrespect intended to Hudds or Hull.



I don't especially blame the 3 day communities camp, btw - it must go deeper than that.



From here I'd take avoiding the spoon after 23 rounds and coming through the qualifying 8s. And I'm taking nothing for granted there.



You never know, in a few weeks we might have made up for lost time and be getting back close to mediocrity. But right now it's hard to quell the sense of foreboding.

Not in Superleague it ain't for this coach. Name 4 teams we'll finish above.

I will name five teams who won't be in the bottom 4 - Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Warry & Giants but as for the rest it will be a dogfight. Each one of the remaining 7 teams has issues of some sort which could turn their season sour or otherwise.



For the record, I say 8th is achievable if Rovers can keep the spine pretty much intact.



IMO anyone basing predictions on trial games are crazy (ie Salford 22 Wigan 0).

Problem being a couple of our spine will already miss a february, add to that I still dont think we know who our full back is so the spine is looking weakened already.
