| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"Better hope the supply and quality of shirts is better than last year then, otherwise it could be another " pay now for a benefit in 7 months time" perk. Bit like all the rest of it really. Apart from the derby discount where you need to wait a year.

| Quote Gavin Miller - Legend="Gavin Miller - Legend"=redTaken from the Unofficial Forum from somebody who has taken the time to look at the offer and not have a kneejerk reaction to it.
Simply put, the price is £60, and for that I save:
£42 on a season pass
£10 on a shirt (even if you only buy one)
£10 (minimum) on a derby ticket
So, I'm already £2 better off, before I factor in the following:
Discount at the club shop, earned on the Team Card.
Price freeze guaranteed for 2011 as well (which will presumably save me another £42 less the nominal renewal fee).
Add onto that the probable savings on shirts/derby tickets next season, by handing over £60 now, I'm guessing that by the end of next season I will probably be somewhere in the region of £50 better off in total, than if I don't shell that £60 out now.
That for me is an easy answer to all of this, even before the major benefit comes into play, which is not having to scramble around for a North Stand derby ticket. I can't queue midweek as I don't live/work in East Yorkshire.
Massive well done to Rovers for knocking this ridiculous system of having to queue for a North Stand derby ticket on the head. Nobody should have to queue for something for hours out in the street like that in this day and age. This type of scheme has been needed at Rovers for a while now.
Also, Ipswich have ran the Team Card system for some years now, and it works really well. You generate points on it at the club shop, and also at loads of other shops on the high street. These points can then be used in the club shop, and at Ipswich even off the price of the season ticket, which I presume Rovers will offer in 2011.
All in all, I think that once this scheme really kicks in, it will prove to be a very worthwhile one.'"
Stop it, they'll need to turn their attentions to their own club

| Not read all the previous so this may have already been brought up but I see they have now scrapped the Rovers Mums scheme as well, so the increase for me, my wife and daughter is £158, or if I pay the membership fee it will be an increase of £173 less the shirt / derby ticket which equates to a 50% increase in fees.
That kind of rise is extorionate and especially to announce it at this late a date.
What kind of increases can we expect at the gates, North stand £24 if in line with the 20ish% rise in passes (not withstanding removal of other schemes)

Quote barham redExisting JR mum season ticket holders can buy Club Rovers membership at the concessionary rate now.
Existing Junior passholders can join Club Rover now, for free
New applications for JRs and JR mums membership will be processed by the JR as normal and you will not be able to join Club Rovers until it is open to non-passholders, unless you already have one.
The Club Rovers membership fee is payable to the Club, not the JRs (there will still be a nominal JR mums registration fee)
We are working closely with the club on the junior membership scheme and joining up to Club Rovers as a junior supporter will gain you Junior Robins membership for 2010.
In addition, we are looking at other options regarding the membership for those supporters who regularly travel on our trips and attend our events and we will keep you posted on any news when we have it but in the mean time fill in your application forms for Club Rovers which will make you part of what will continue to be the biggest, and best, Junior supporters club for next year
You do not have to join Club Rovers to be a JR or a JR mum or a season ticket holder but you will not be able to take advantage of any Club Rovers offers if you don't.'"

Then you'd better not moan about the quality of the team, the state of the ground or the lack of marketing! Strange concept but it takes money to be a top SL team and that money has to come from somewhere.

Indeed. NH's notes and the stuff about the scheme in the wigan match program are refreshingly honest. The club has made a precipitous climb in the last few years. To do this it has unavoidably been run at a loss. Those losses were planned for, but they can't continue indefinately. To quote James Elston: 'To maintain that push we need to generate more income.'
The one-off membership fee will hopefully defray some of the one-off costs associated with securing the SL licence. After that, the books need to be balanced based on crowds in the region of 8-9k (plus TV money, sponsorship etc). We should be able to put together a competitive squad on that, especially as more young (and initially cheap) players come through the ranks. Major ground improvements are going to be a big ask in the current economic climate and I hope the club don't overstretch there.

Sphericals pal.....The money should come from atrracting more fans...increased sponsorship...increased corporate.....better merchandise (cos the shop is full of boring cack)...
Not from making loyal fans pay £60 each to be exactly where they've been for the last umpteen years...many many other teams / organisations manage without foisting an artificial elite membership scheme on the long suffering fan.
this is a twisted scheme that has been sold to a gullible board by a spin-doctor...the majority of people in East Hull do not have money to chuck away on a pick-pocket of a scheme!!
it is essentially "hand us £60 now and we will allow you to buy your season pass at this years price" followed by "if you don't give us £60..you're screwed"
HULL KINGSTON ROVERS....Pride of East Hull..NO SORRY, correction...Pride of Elite Membership Only

Maybe they have already thought of that. Crowds have already risen dramatically, though. Sponsorship and corporates is no longer going to be the cash cow it was.

Thing is, Rovers fans suffering, in sporting terms, is much less than it has been. Tbf, I think long-term season pass holders should get a discount. 5 years holding a pass, meaning you get the concessionary rate for example.

For those who can't afford it, I have every sympathy. But only if you doubt that the money will be properly reinvested in the club can you brand it a rip-off.
