| Quote: Bertie "AFAIK, neither Hall or Calderwood were offered a contract, the players who were offered reduced terms were Radford and Dowes and it would appear in the former case he already managed to at least retain his former earnings due, as you say, to hull having missed out on projected targets. Dowes position presumably remains in limbo. ?'"
Will Sharp put pen to paper pretty much ruling out any sort of contract offer for Hall. Calderwood may still be offered something in November if he gets himself fully fit - this may change 1) If another club make him a firm offer or 2) Hull sign another outside back.
Dowes is completely in limbo at the moment and is holding out for more money knowing that if another prop agrees a contract with Hull then his current offer will more then likely disappear.
Going back to your original claim that the Hull players will see the Radders signing as a victory in boosting their earning power I think the above would suggest not.

I don't doubt that for a minute. It wasn't Hull who I had in mind, but I know Wakey are supposed to be interested in Wheeldon. He's not pulling tress up, but everyone has a value, and if the price is right, Rovers should give him another 2 years to continue his development.

His value to Rovers may suddenly increase if other forward targets do not come off!
I would like to think Wheeldon has a future in this city because he is a good prop with the best years ahead of him but things can all change pretty quickly.

Can you provide a link to your assertion that Lee Radford's level of salary on his new contract is the same as his old one? Given that he's getting a testimonial as well, that would be a huge pay increase in real terms. Thanks.

You "accidentally" missed underlining the part which stated... it would appear so. This would indicate that the posters intention ( i.e mois ) was meant as a IMO which as far as i am aware doesn't require a link.
HTH
P.S. It would, in my defence, be that quite a lot of your own fans believe Radford has been given the deal "he" wants (and with 2 years) because one of your other targets has signed up elsewhere thus increasing his bargaining power.

Again, you are making assumptions that:
a) Radford has got absolutely everything he asked for and not budged an inch from his initial postion
b) That Radford values himself now at exactly the same salary he did 2 years ago.
Of course Radford will have better bargaining power now we've missed out on Fielden and LMS, even though it's been stated by the player, openly, that staying at FC is his first choice. But for your logic to hold, now you've missed out on a player Morgan was open about saying he wanted (Radford), that increases Mason's (who as reported in the national press wants £180,000 a year) bargaining power as you've already missed out on Lima and as you say there are precious few alternatives in the forwards available.

Erm £120,000 and if the gent i've being speaking with today is correct thats the what we've got him for. Not once in any national press report have I seen Mason wanting 180k.

Wow I must have missed the story in the RL fountain of knowledge that is the Daily Star. Maybe his wage demands went the same way as only looking for offers from the top 4 clubs. Any club would be mad to pay ANY player 180k certainly a prop when the cap is only 1.7m.
If Willie Mason on a 3 year deal at £120000 is correct i'm more then happy.

It's widely known that Hull FC met the demands that Hull KR was offering radford at the 11th hour. Whether thats more or less then last season feck knows. Whats assured it's more then they where originally prepared to pay.

Correct. Bertie is claiming it's what he's on now though. Which with a testimonial would be a massive increase.

Well the uncapped Matt Orford commands £275,000 a year.
