Agree that the Sky game choice is baffling and when you read down Sky's choices for the first 8 rounds there are precious few stand-out fixtures.

Suppose it is welcoming the new boys into the league etc.
I actually think it will be an interesting close game.

I think the choice of Salford vs Castleford is much worse.

Widnes new boys and Salford and Saints first games in there new stadiums are on first to show them off.

Makes perfectly good sense to me. Clubs are pressured into improving stadia so at least should get the opportunity to show them off at the first game there. Looking forward to visiting them too

I agree with Widnes, we were first on in our return season, it lets everyone have a look at the new boys.

You sound like a proper supporter not one of these modern day moaning minnies that have never heard of a goretex jacket and a bit of soul. Should be a great atmosphere and i'm sure you'll bring plenty over despite it being a friday night.

Probably getting the rubbish teams on Sky Early so when the business end of the season comes they don't have to bother showing Wakefield, Salford, Widnes etc
