Then either I need a job on the board or your under estimating them. Along with the cash boost its makes complete sense for any organisation to want to find out more about their customers.

| =redTaken from the Unofficial Forum from somebody who has taken the time to look at the offer and not have a kneejerk reaction to it.
Simply put, the price is £60, and for that I save:
£42 on a season pass
£10 on a shirt (even if you only buy one)
£10 (minimum) on a derby ticket
So, I'm already £2 better off, before I factor in the following:
Discount at the club shop, earned on the Team Card.
Price freeze guaranteed for 2011 as well (which will presumably save me another £42 less the nominal renewal fee).
Add onto that the probable savings on shirts/derby tickets next season, by handing over £60 now, I'm guessing that by the end of next season I will probably be somewhere in the region of £50 better off in total, than if I don't shell that £60 out now.
That for me is an easy answer to all of this, even before the major benefit comes into play, which is not having to scramble around for a North Stand derby ticket. I can't queue midweek as I don't live/work in East Yorkshire.
Massive well done to Rovers for knocking this ridiculous system of having to queue for a North Stand derby ticket on the head. Nobody should have to queue for something for hours out in the street like that in this day and age. This type of scheme has been needed at Rovers for a while now.
Also, Ipswich have ran the Team Card system for some years now, and it works really well. You generate points on it at the club shop, and also at loads of other shops on the high street. These points can then be used in the club shop, and at Ipswich even off the price of the season ticket, which I presume Rovers will offer in 2011.
All in all, I think that once this scheme really kicks in, it will prove to be a very worthwhile one.

or look at it another way
Last season i saved £42 by getting my pass early and it didn't cost me £60 to save £42, therefore the difference this season to last is £60.
IE last season my pass cost me £179 weather i bought a shirt or not.
this season my pass will cost me £239(£179 + £60) so i am not saving £42 as you state. Also last season i got a combined saving on home and away shirts of £5, this year it will be £10, so including the £10 off the derby ticket and £5 to spend in september i will save an extra £20 this year, therefore my season pass this season will cost £219, a rise of £40 on last season. This also forces you to buy a shirt (if you don't then your pass is £229) adding another £35 (assuming the shirt is still £45) to save £10 thus spending £254 for this seasons pass.
The way its been done is to make us think we are saving when really we're not.

| but did you all really think that season tickets would not go up for next season
I for one think its a great idea after going through it afew times, yes its a way to get some money in quick but forgetting this seasons prices for a pass, if you get a membership you ARE saving money in the long run rather then NOT saving.

| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"That's what most people can't see. A 25% price increase and they're convinced they're saving money. Plus they're now compelled to buy a shirt to "save" money. Genius, wish I'd thought of it

Better hope the supply and quality of shirts is better than last year then, otherwise it could be another " pay now for a benefit in 7 months time" perk. Bit like all the rest of it really. Apart from the derby discount where you need to wait a year.
