| I hope this move doesn't happen-Rhys is a good and loyal player who can play in quite a few positions, give me him any day over some that have come stayed or rumored to be coming.

| How on earth can we reign Jason Netherton and let Rhys Lovegrove leave, the same with Brown and Caro. I thought we were taking the right steps this coming season. Come on Rovers thought you were losing the plot bringing Cockayne back but to let Rhys go something wrong somewhere. And why we need another prop when Lovegrove can play anywhere from centre to front row is beyond belief

The snag with Rhys is he missis to many tackles and that was half our problem last year good in some parts of is game, but we do need better has for netherton like it has been said on this board he will only be cover and very cheap

| Looking it from Rhys's pov, I can see this not panning out from the club's.
He's got 2 years left on his deal. And that is a very long time in rugby league. One more year on top of that and he is due a testimonial (i think). He's studying locally too, iirc. If his main option is Wakefield then, with the greatest respect to them, they're in a bit of difficulty right now and perhaps can't offer great security. 'Fight for my place' and ride out the storm seems the obvious thing to do for him.
So presumably we'd have to offer him a sweetener - and then you start to think we might as well keep him as pay him to go away. I doubt we're bumping the salary cap ceiling, though obviously I don't know that for a fact.

So you think him leaving is his decision? Reading the HDM it would seem to be Rovers decision to let him go, although I always thought him to one of Rovers better players, so your version would make more sense.
Be shocked if he choose to leave Rovers to sign for Wakey though.

| Something oyster bay said last week has come into my head. It could also be the same with brown. You can stay but with signings coming in you may not get as much 1st team as you like so you can a) stick it out and risk weekly trips to gateshead or b) with our blessing look for a club that will give you a game week in week out.

He's got a contract, so it's his decision as to what to do with option he's (apparently) been given. I'm not saying he's instigated it.

True - it maybe makes more sense for Brown to go though. There are possible financial advantages to being a first-teamer in a part time environment for a fringe SL player (eg a number 26). Plus he probably has fewer ties to the area and is only walking away from [ione[/i more year. It's easier to imagine Rhys putting up with a few trips to Gateshead. Good coaches are usually pragmatists. A few injuries and he's back in the team - or if not, he can alway re-assess it down the line, go out on loan or whatever. If it was me, and from the partial information I have, that's what I'd do.

| Given his versatility I would quite fancy him at the Vikings as we look to increase our strength in depth, always seemed a good hard working player. Perhaps we are a bit far away if he is part way through studies in your neck of the woods.
Seems odd that he has been told he can leave. I remember our home match against you and he was out on the pitch with the coach chewing the fat long before the warm up session, seemed very much part and parcel of the set up. its not as if he is costing you a non fed trained spot either since he has been over here long enough to have exemption!

He is a consummate professional who prepares well every week and can play in a number of different roles. He's already done that for us this year and I'd expect him to rise to another level next season
'"
2013 - you're not in our plans anymore *apparently
Quite a U-turn.

| Word on the street is CS said he could go wasn't happy with his input to the team during the season, was more interested in his university commitments. Also his defence was letting him down apparently missed 143 tackles last season one of the highest in the league. But as I say these are only rumours I have heard from other supporters. If they are wrong I will stand corrected

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| If we are disposing of our poor defenders than Welham, Eden, Hall and Gleeson all miss a much , much higher percentage than Lovegrove, i assume they will be next out of the door, unless as PAC intimates, there is more to it than that...
