| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"
I'm not denying people are moaning about the quality of rugby at FC. But you conveniently forget that not so long ago there were quite a few on here complaining Rovers style was predictable and one-dimensional, and the performance away vs Crusaders, for example, was simply glossed over. On the FC forum that would have been slated for 38 pages. .'"
The one dimensional play was an issue, the coach noticed it and rectified the situation, the crusaders result wasn't glossed over. It was taken in context, sonmething that as an FC fan may need to be explained to you.
We were in 7th no matter what, Crusaders needed the result for play off rugby. We had a play off game the week after that was what the team would be concentrating on. They did, we went on and won it so in the big picture the coach was right in his tactics. Nothing to moan about therfore no one moaned. No carpet brushing necessary.. HTH..

| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"Or the other way to look at it is that we're talking about 2010 and 2011 prices here. 2011 hasn't started yet so you can't say what level of entertainment or results that will bring. What we do know, however, is that FC won more home games last season than Rovers, which is really what you buy your pass for. =#FF0000Chuck in a far nicer stadium and an extra 13 weeks to get a discounted price and, well, I think we compare reasonably, particularly when you think on this basis a pass in the South Stand at the KC is cheaper than a pass in the Golf Stand at Craven Park.'"

| I think it's credit to the cleaning staff the way they spruce things up in that 20 minute period between the home fans and the away fans leaving.

| Quote Bertie="Bertie"In your spin you forgot to add the money off the shirts, the half price derby tickets, the discounted play off tickets, the points on the teamcard and the other benefits on offer. '"
To qualify for the money off shirts, you had to want a shirt and to pay an extra £35. To qualify for the derby tickets, you had to want to go to the KC and pay an extra £12. The point is that whether or not you choose to participate in these additional activities, the amounts quoted are the [uminimum[/u cash any adult Club Rovers member has to pay for a season pass. I know it's difficult for you to understand, but there we are.
Quote Bertie="Bertie"You also forgot to add of the thousands who chose to join the scheme who realised and continue to benefit from Club Rovers.'"
Another irrelevant point. I'm not arguing that people have participated in the scheme as Rovers have 6,900 passholders (although some felt they were over a barrel to join Club Rovers to start with in order to retain their seat); joining Club Rovers as shown means cheaper passes than not being a member. However, even for Club Rovers members this still represents, for the RM stand example, an increase in real cash terms of £65 over 2 years, or +15.5% vs 2008, and 6.6% more than you pay for reserved seating at the KC.
Quote Bertie="Bertie" Everyone had the choice to join or not to join, a bit like the hull fans have the choice to pay by debit card i suppose.
'"
Indeed. We also have the choice not to pay a penny until 31st December and still get the full discount.

Im kept very dry at home games thanks.
Once again, not really a problem, even with you guys being our very close neighbours, you struggle to fill the away end.
Im assuming you have mentioned this point because you have had a problem with no toilet paper at CP, well Im surprised that would be a problem for you black and whites

For a supposed accountant Mrs B you seem to find the concept of season passes a little difficult. As EHR has already posted a Rovers club JR mum, for instance obtained a seat in the RM stand less than your supposed minimum, so bang goes your argument there.
You are correct in the assumption that fans had the choice or not of joining the scheme which i suppose is a decent indication that a good percentage saw the discounted shirts, half price derby tickets and discounted play off tickets etc, etc for starters as offereing value for money considering the take up of members.
Perhaps it's better you try to placate your own supporters moans and gripes at being charged for using a debit card, a concept i suggest, that not even yourself or the other spinmaster Wilf can justify.

Fair enough on the RSG mums. I'm sure that was a hefty proportion of the 6,900 passholders.
The £2 debitcard charge is stupid. But at least those debit card devotees have until 31st December to arrange a cash or cheque or postal order payment method instead. This point of much more generous payment periods seems one you are rather keen to gloss over.

Your discount period is closer to Christmas the ours. As Rovers passes came out earlier are we not as supporters in a stronger position. We have our passes paid up well in advance of Christmas therfore not an added expense that people don't need around that time of year. The charge of paying by direct debit is scandelous. Hull won't be charged anything for debit card payments only on credit card payments surely.

So FC, by allowing their supporters cash in the bank for an additional 13 weeks and 3 or 4 extra month end pay cheques (last year the discount window was extended to the first week in January to allow for this), are actively disadvantaging them? Perhaps you should suggest Rovers do their fans a favour and launch season passes for 2012 at Easter 2011 to they can pay for them before the expense of the the summer holidays.
There is a charge to retailers for use of debit and credit cards, but it depends on the volume of transactions that retailer makes. Credit card charges are a % of the transaction value but debit cards are a fixed fee per transaction. Last place I worked it was 60p per transaction but that's going back a few years.
