Why would you think that?

| Just wondered if you, like me, thought that a bit more effort may be a better way of indicating to the ref that Tompkins IS clamping. Rather than feeble jerks followed by angry protestations.

I do agree with you. For me, if the tackler pulls his arm free then either the ref will give a penalty to the attacker or a knock on for a loose carry. If the tackler leaves his arm in and makes no effort to clear the ruck (as happened) then the ref has no choice but to penalise the tackler.

| Makes sense. The game played honestly is the greatest sporting spectacle in the world. Gamesmanship has ruined football and we seem to be slipping into it ourselves. Hope it is stopped, or am I being a bit simplistic?

| Quote: Barnacle Bill "Of course with a late hit on him there's a chance that him and his brother (who'll come running in from 50 yards away throwing punches or lining up a Cantonaesque drop kick) will get involved in a scuffle and both get sent off/binned, could be good value that two for one like.'" Was this sarcastic? Joel Tomkins is a pu$$y, i've lost count the amount of times he's ran in after Sams been hit and done zilcho! Just likes to kick out at people on the floor apparently.
Rivalries and Saturday night aside, i hope you batter the pie eating, cheating gits.
[sizeThen get smashed yourselves by Saints!!! For balance, you understand.[/size

Back to the topic however, Sam tore you lads apart at Craven Park earlier in the season but sometimes it can work like that and sometimes nothing will come off for him - Just like every other play.
Im backing us to win on Friday, but not by much - a very spirited KR side will be arriving on Friday especially after thrashing the poorer side in Hull last week.

I think the result will depend on how well we start. If you get a lead then I think you'll settle into your stride and run out comfortable winners. If we can keep it close or pinch a lead for 20-30 minutes the doubts might just creep in.
Hopefully it will be a good game anyway.

Most matches I have seen Wigan have found it easier to grind out the win than to blast teams from the off. We seem to lose focus when we do that, for example against Leeds, Bradford, Harlequins.....
Here's hoping for a good match too though

Think it'll be tough for you too get a lead in the first 20mins, thats when we seem to be at our strongest. Often find ours with big leads (12-0, 18-0)
This is thanks to our starting front row: Fielden, Pig and Coley.
It all falls apart when there off the pitch though

TBH if a player has an arm trapped and then pulls it free and the ball pops out 99/100 times its going to be a penalty for ball stripping and Tomkins knows this.
Infact I would imagine the little scrote is waiting for the arm to get pulled free so his grip can 'slip' just at the right moment.
