| Even Steve Clarke on Sky doesn't think the tackle was illegal. Says it all really. Shame for Shenton and Cas, they won't make the top four without him.

| You watch appeal will give him 5 matches.
ps
Had to watch it a few times just to see which tackle it was, feel for the Cas kid but not sure that was 4 matches myself.
You see those tackles every week but I guess they are okay when they don't injure a man

| Quote: Pickering Red "What an idiotic and provocative load of mock indignation shizzle from a darksider. In future when I read your occasional posts, they might go straight into my king-size dick head folder, if you keep spouting this sort of cods. I was at the game behind the posts in our North Stand and I watched the tackle from behind no more than 50 yards away. I have also seen the same video footage side on as you and everyone else several times.
Please explain to the rational and fair minded posters on here, how you can classify Boudebza's 3rd man tackle as a "deliberate" attempt to end Shenton's season? To do so beggars belief. As if that wasn't bad enough, you then attempt to varnish your provocation by saying he did it "with such wild abandon." Are you saying that he should refrain from tackling a player in a contact sport who is still moving forward and when the tackle isn't fully completed?
We all feel for Michael Shenton and hope he makes a successful and speedy recovery.
It seems a lot of impartial observers view the tackle outcome as unintentional. I can only assume your posted nonsense is derived from a judgemental vision based on who you support.'"
I was being sarcastic, as I think that MR alluded to. FWIW my opinion is that there was nothing in it. (from a deliberate or intentional perspective) Clearly as well it is a natural reaction and indeed the intention of the game to get the player down. 4 games is harsh, would never have happened to a popular club. That said, you can understand an emotive response when a club captain is injured for the season. I guess something needs looking at re third man, but I am at a loss how it could be policed.
When I read your occasional posts in future, I will bear in mind (as i have seen prior evidence also of) your penchant for the dramatic and vitriolic over reaction. Must be something to do with living in a village, but don't take it out on the rest of us.

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?: |

Nice one. You post a provocative wind up and my occasional dramatic and vitriolic over reaction generates the above considered and insightful response from you. Result.
I even smiled appreciatively at your living in a village reference. Rumour has it round here that the best place to live for unusual dramatic and vitriolic over reaction is nearby Kirkybymoorside. Their biennial shagatownienight is a must visit, especially once the locals have run out of sheep to service.
I also used to live in North Ferriby. Might have some bearing on my persona.

I just think it could even start in motion a dangerous precedence that some clubs could even abuse. Ie overstate injuries to sway the judiciary hearings … Of course no one is suggesting that here, but you get the point. If the evidence (tv footage etc) doesn't show enough either way, I don't like how it then falls to the outcome of the incident to dictate/increase the punishment. In as much, guilt has already been decided in the headlines.'"
Think that precedent was set last year with the tackle Sneyd made on McGuire, think that was deemed a season ender and possible break only for him to be classed as fit for selection at the game 5 days later.
I'm not expecting the JB ruling to set any precedent at all going forward, as someone said earlier in this thread JB suffered from not playing for a 'big boy' club and the media playing of Powell. I'll guarantee that over the next 2 days we'll see worse 3rd man tackles (although hopefully not causing the injury) that will go unpunished

My point about his absence wasn't really to do with his children, but to point out that despite your claims Powell sends him out to injure players every week, this can't be true as he hasn't actually played that many games for us.
Perhaps you need to sit on the disciplinary panel if you are spotting foul play that is completely missed by everyone else?'"
There is always one. I remember one of them accusing Senior of deliberately bringing his knee down on the back of Chev Walkers calf when he broke his leg at Headingley. You can't reason with myopia of this nature!

Unfortunately I think you are correct. They was a similar incident with Mickey Paea ironically against Cas a couple of years ago. At the hearing Radford presented evidence to the committee showing that there were 2/3 tackles that were the same as Paea's that round but the ban was not overturned. Complete lack of consistency.
