If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.: |
|
| That was a dry bumming. Our performance was difficult to watch. Shambolic. All our fans shaking heads in total despair.
Full credit to Leeds. 1 to 17 pure class. Their fans were gracious too, unlike some of the s that have made it on here.
Leeds have taken it to a new level this season.
Gifted them 4 tries, 2 other tries definitely from forward passes in the build up but we never looked like scoring so no excuses.
If there was an award for worst individual performance in a CC final, Kieran Dixon would be a shoe in at the mo. Shocker.

| Hey guys, at least you got to the Final - how many supporters from other clubs could only dream that their team had got there?
As for the game, well it would appear that Leeds were as most expected them to be. I guess your guys may have been suffering a bit from a far from ideal build up against Championship teams - now you know how we Leythers felt when we suddenly came up against you, in the Qualifiers!

| Leeds were very good today. KR did their best. Bad luck just not your day. I doubt any Superleague club would have beat Leeds today.
PS hope your team bounce back next week.

| We have also had games of which we were embarrassed. One I remember we were so overawed that we looked like rabbits in the headlights - it happens to every team. Leeds have had plenty of big game experience, which you cannot train for and the big occasion is somewhat different to league games. Dont loose heart, whatever happens with the Bulls, HKR certainly belong in SL

Much as we offered very little, Leeds were superb, I thought. Even at our best we'd have struggled to get within 20.
Some nice gallows humour on the tube. 'We were unlucky', one guy proclaimed loudly, with tongue firmly in cheek.
But overall, a pretty miserable experience.

Eden was a better player IMO.'"
Eden made lots of mistakes for no obvious reason, other than doziness.
Dixon's confidence is just very brittle. I think it was right to take a the 'gamble' of playing him, but with hindsight it obviously didn't work. You wonder where he goes from here - in fairness the game was already over as a contest, by the time he made most of his errors.

| Sorry to say HKR, but I think you were lucky to score 0. You were like rabbits in the headlights. The next time you get to the Challenge Cup Final, if ever, this will help you.

Dixon is hopeless. There's not 1 supporter of any other club in SL who would want their club to sign him.
You were so bad today I can't even be bothered to take the piiss as I doubt I could make you feel any worse than you must. it was bad enough losing 16 nil in 2013 but 50 nil is off the scale. Great to watch though and so much better that it was one of our academy products who really rubbed it in

50-nil is a horrible scoreline, but we're a hugely erratic team who came in 10th in the main part of SL. On some level I think I was subconsciously prepared for the possibility of something like this - that it'd more like the Wigan away game in the league than our cup tie with the same team.
I doubt it'll haunt me for very long. I remember the good results much better than the horror shows. Selective amnesia makes it all bearable
I was thinking about Briscoe on the way back from the game. And your new signing Scott Taylor. Good players who immediately and fairly predictably won silverware immediately after leaving our clubs. That incumbency at the top the domestic game and the regularity of with which Leeds and Wigan win trophies, must be a massive draw for players, and by attracting those players they keep the success coming. How do you compete with that? Salford have spent big on star names, with mixed results at best. Some others have tried building from the bottom a bit more, but inevitably struggle to hold onto their best products when bigger clubs come calling. So basically 'we' don't compete, at least not regularly and today was a particularly spectacular illustration of that.

The difference between this and your 16-0 is that Leeds were fantastic today albeit assisted by us, Wigan were there for the taking the year you lost. Even at our best we'd have lost today.
