I've seen the under 19's a few times. There's a few good larkers, but no one really that makes you stand up and take notice. So if they are going all out to bring the youth, then the under 16's seems a formidable team that could be natured. But that's a few years away yet. People have scorned the new structure for next season but having seen Leigh take Leeds all the way and Featherstone the new cashed up wannebe's, it means that finishing 8th is upgraded from being fairly irrelevant to being crucial to the very future of the club.

What has to be factored in is the root & branch overhaul of all rugby matters from top to bottom being undertaken by Craig Sandercock. Sandy's immense knowledge, intellect and work ethic make him virtually irreplaceable for this task and 2 years and a half into the project it would be shattering to call a halt and go back to square one.

So often sporting clubs are scorned for their lack of patience with managers and coaches. Craig Sandercock is exceedingly lucky that Rovers are bucking the trend but that is the path the club have chosen. Having gone this far down the road it would be criminal not to see it through.
