Quote Paul T - HKR="Paul T - HKR"I reckon Rovers will line-up as follows:
Eden
George, Hall, Salter, D Hodg
Burns, Dobbo
Paea, J Hodg, Walker
Lovegrove, Paterson
Griffin
Bench: Green, Mika, Withers & Beauy
If Hall fails his fitness test then switch George to centre and bring in Omari.
The unlucky player is Keal but IMO he needs to bring the same tempo as Josh which I feel he still isn't doing consistently. Withers does and so he gets my vote.
I would have included Cox in the 19 and dropped Mika who, again IMO, just isn't doing enough. He ought to be scoring tries, making breaks and leading the right edge, but he seems to saunter along and for most of the time its as if he isn't on the pitch!
I'm expecting Rovers to turn up today and reckon it will be a pretty close encounter with Burns rounding off a MoTM performance with a last minute try to seal a one point victory (a reverse of last seasons scoreline). . .well, I live in hope!'"
It's a fair point about Withers keeping a closer tempo to Hodgson than Carlile but Carlile has a really high tackle success rate and a low error rate so it's a tough call.
Regarding Cox, he's had a few decent games starting on the right edge before a second spell in the middle. He adds go-forward and physical presence but I think he can improve his marker defence and his attacking lines but that will come with time working on his game - his dummy-runs are not as accurate as Mika's which are key to execute attacking moves.
Comments about Mika are not fair on the kid and there seem to be some fans who act like sheep and say he's not doing well just because the next sheep on the terrace says so.
Regarding him "leading the right edge", you do know that he's played in the middle since the Cas game till he was moved out to the right edge for the second-half at Hudds during which time he scored a try???
Then last week against Saints Lovegrove was to play 80mins on the right edge but he had to move to left centre whilst Welham went off for his injection hence why Mika played all of 10mins there before moving into the middle when Welham came back.
So Mika plays some very good games at loose-forward; Cas, Hull, Wigan (the only player not to miss a tackle that day), Saints (league game) and Saints (cup game) yet he should be "leading our right edge" even though he not playing there??? - Ok...
