Sorry, I wasn't gloating, it was pre season friendly and while I agree, a defeat by your neighbours is never good, it is way to early to start all the doom and gloom. Both sides need to let the new players gel for five or six meaningful games before baying blood. Lets have confidence in our new coaches. Here's to two strong, winning Hull clubs.

| Forwards look a different proposition to the last couple of seasons. Paea’s a beast, he should still be in the NRL. Clinton looks interested for the first time. We even have some marker defence…& offloads
What impressed most was the fluency. Losing Green & Galea would have been a disaster before, but we kept our shape & it wasn’t all about Dobson. Hall looks a real threat in midfield & his kicking game was a bonus. Never thought I’d see Lovegrove back on the wing though
Pretty encouraging overall, always nice to quieten the noisy neighbours for a bit too

Today they where great. This without Ben Galea for 75 mins, Missing Ryan O'Hara and Liam Watts.

The Doggies offered him a deal but he'd said he'd already gave his word to Hull KR. So many players would have renaged on their word.

Completely new player. Awesome to watch. The fact we never saw him for most of last season and when we did he looked so disinterested is like having a new signing and of Clintons calibre it's a massive bonus.

| It was a very disciplined display by Rovers with Dobbo and Hall bossing the park. The loss of Ben Galea so early in the game called for a reshuffle and I thought Murrell stepped up to the mark at loose. What pleased me most was how we didn't panic and lose our shape when FC had a purple patch after Beaumont was carried off.
My MOTM was shared between Paea and Lovegrove; I thought they upped their games and revelled in their roles.
Undoubtedly, Dobbo made a big difference (his 40/20 was more than timely) but the experiment with Hally at 6 came as a surprise (even though I mentioned it as a possiblity the other day) and showed great promise.
I felt so sorry for Rich Beaumont; he was running the ball in hard and putting himself in the frame for the Leeds game. Fingers crossed he will be back.
There was a suspicious incident in the game involving what looked like Moa whacking Dobbo off the ball. I want to see the play back on that incident. It was noticeable how Rovers forwards, Clinton in particular, aimed their runs at Moa after that.
On FCs performance, I think 'undercooked' sums it up. I thought Houghton was their top performer with Seymour the most disappointing.

Agree with that. Although i think that our forwards were targeting Moa purely on the grounds that he is a big pudding. Talking of puddings, i saw Mark O'Meley down at Wests on saturday and couldnt believe the timber he had put on. He didnt look in a state to play a game of rugby and so it proved. Gentle is obviously not impressed by him judging by his decision to bench him.

Shouldn't have been. He ran out there for us a couple of times and always looked like he could make a go of that position. Clever player with pace and good hands (most of the time).
