All those that say this is going to take us nowhere, please could you give us some names as to who you think we should have signed, for what reasons they are better than Jase and how much you believe those players will earn more than Jase?

I do not doubt there are better all rounders out there but do you really think we are getting our monies worth out of Joel Clinton who plays in the same position as Nev? For the difference in salaries I think we get more value out of Jase than Joel FWIW.

Spot on Nick, we get hardly any value whatsoever from the clubs biggest earners, Morgans mis-use and mis-management of the salary cap and failure to look more than a season ahead is going to haunt us for a while yet..,

..and Jason Netherton is a super squad member to have , gives massive value to the pound....not an attacking force by any means but if the rest could tackle as well as him we would certainly not be in the bottom 4..

Just Dowes without the tackle-busts IMO

So Netherton is on less than half of Dowes salary? Wow. Considering Dowes was a last minute 1 year deal for us Nev must be on peanuts.


I had seen the stats for HPFABB, thanks Lazzer. Fair to say Dowes and Netherton provide far more bang for buck.

He only said "appropriately less" when comparing Nev to Dowes, it's Joel who he said is on twice the salary.

Just because Clinton is gash doesn't mean Nev isn't. Thats not how it works. I'm loving how everyone on here knows details of salaries at both Hull clubs.

Well I said Netherton = Dowes apart from Dowes has more than twice as many tackle busts in the same number of games. Lazzer said this difference was reflected in their repective salaries. Tbf Larry is usually bang on in his assessments so I was expressing surprise rather than questioning his statement.

Can just picture Morgan and Riolo in a Sydney roof terrace hot tub smoking cigars and drinking champagne whilst planning the tidy commission structures from next year's Crossman/Fitzhenry/Clinton type deals.
