I think Hodgson showed the great progress he's made over the off-season with a great couple of games against FC & Wire before he had a shocker last week so I'd maybe put him on the bench considering we're not sure how fit Fisher is coming back from injury.
Agree about Taylor though, he seems to have some kind of natural abilty to generate go-forward without the usual brute-force/strength. I'd play him off the bench with Vella, Wheeldon & Netherton as our starting middle-men and bring on Watts, Taylor & Cockayne off the bench.

Just hope we have enough to stop chase and Orr as they are the dangermen

I wouldnt leave Hodgson out on the back of having a below average game, i actually think he played ok until fatigue caught up with him. I just dont want to see him over exposed at this stage of his career. Going forward i think he will be a great 80 minute hooker but we need to bring him on steadily.

Fair point about Hodgson cos we don't want to ruin him like the players across the river (not having a dig @ FC, just stating fact) but it would be risky playing Fisher for 80mins considering he's coming back from a hamstring injury.

As much as i like Scott Taylor how you could start him at prop in front of Liam Watts who has just been selected for England is quite astonishing.

TBF i would always have Watts in my starting 13 and i think he will be tomorrow. Best prop at the club by a very wide margin. I found last weeks decision to include Netherton as the third middle man at L/F in front of Watts, who played that role pretty much all last season, even more bizarre.

| don't disagree with you but having seen their pitch the other week think it might be a bit of a slug fest at least to start before both packs tire and although wattsy is a big lad he also offers more when there is a bit of space. and totally agree on playing netherton in front of him last week, couldn't understand that at all. personally I would have left murrel at loose with galea moving one place in to run the left hand side as an imaginary 6 if you like.

Hodgson has been ok, id love to see him run from dummy half a lot more though, hes got a good turn of speed but isnt using it enough IMO,

Stuff like this really irritates me. He should be made to buy out his contract if he's unwilling to see it out.

| Morgs says he just didn't make the squad. Wrong type of ground apparently.
